Coconut Grater Project Brief: Classroom Project to Design a product for extracting coconut flesh with durable blades and safety features. User profile : For daily use in households, by shopkeepers in sweets shops or small scale restaurants. Problems in using existing Coconut Grater : Suction pad doesn’t work on all the surfaces. The Grater can be used only with half cut coconuts, blades are not durable, there are chances of getting hurt while using it, cleaning it and storing it is difficult.
Sketches | Orthography :
Course : Sem 3
Existing Products :
Coconut Grater Concept : The idea was to change the angle of the blade, which will make it easier to use - no need to hold the coconut in hand, just keep it pressed from the top, no requirement of suction pads. The product will not topple because coconut will be placed on the top of it and the CoG is maintained. Smaller blades mounted on the Stainless steel dome, makes it durable and easier to clean. A portable plastic container is provided to collect the grated flesh and a plastic lid for safety, while not in use. Modelling Software : Rhinoceros 4. Rendering in : Bunk Speed Hyper Shot.
