02. TOM FORD After leaving from Gucci & Yves Saint-Laurent, Tom Ford was awarded the AndrĂŠ Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award from the Savannah College of Art and Design, was asked to be the guest editor and creative director for the February 2006 Hollywood edition of Vanity Fair, and now, he finally opened his first step-alone "Tom Ford" flagship at Madison Avenue in New York City. It is a 3-story, 8,600-sqaurefoot store with no products in the house. There is no manager or salesperson. But you can see butlers and maids. It is just like visiting Tom's luxury house in the U.K. "There is the Lucio Fontana in the entryway in stainless steel, Claude Lalanne desk and chair in the entrance, urns at the end of one room that are 1925 French, and the [plaster and marble dust] Jean Arp at the base of the staircase is mine from our London Photo by Nigel Parry

house." It is definitely a great chance to know more about this fashion icon!

How did you start ilovedust? and why the name "ilovedust"? I started it with Ben 4 yrs ago, tired of working for people who just didn't give us a chance really. The name ilovedust was just the website name we wanted to be called Dust, but certain design agancies got a little annoyed at us as 'they owned the name...' paff!!

When you started the business, how did you find your clients? or how did they find you? We beg stole and borrowed to get nice jobs, and went to many many meetings and grew from there really.

I love to cook and collect recipes, but I never exactly follow the steps. For me, cooking should be playful. I always put my imagination to someone’s recipe and bring it to my vision. My cooking rules are easy and healthy. Modern people are always busy, and I believe, with 1/2 effort, 1/2 steps, 1/2 fat, 1/2 time of cooking, will also bring you to a lovely cooking experience and healthier dish. That’s why I called this chapter “1/2 Recipe”. Cooking is art. Let’s play.

1/2 Recipe | Design & Life minizine

Hint ! This is a satisfied light dish. Think of tender chicken and juicy mushroom with refreshing rosemary and sour lemon. When you cook with lemon, you don’t need to worry that it will make your dish bitter. On the other hand, the delicate fragrance will make you impression. Lemon wedges also caramelize on the grill, making them slightly sweet. Try to make lemon chicken kebabs when you BBQ, you will love it as well.

1/2 lemon, 1/2 onion, 4 wedges 20 mushrooms 1 pound chicken 3 sticks of rosemary 1 cup chicken stock or water 2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon olive oil
