ShinyQueens Here is the start of a new journey, with the first issue of ShinyQueens. I’d like to think of ShinyQueens as a magazine for both Women and Men - something that could bring you inspiration, interest and fun. A place where you could learn about the latest Shiny Fashion news, not to mention Photography, Movies, Literature, Art, Music, Technology, Make-Up, Travel, Food and Psychology. This is a magazine that’s out-of-the-ordinary – you can forget about the standard magazines! The magazine features a column about shiny fashion that focuses on that industry in one chosen country. Every issue will focus on a different country. Other topics may change in accordance with you, the readers. I want to bring you something really new, fine and unique. But the most important thing is, I’d like to build this magazine with You. Please share with us your opinion about this magazine and its topics by clicking on the link below. Your feedback is important to us. Thank You Matthew Cross matthew@shinyqueens.com

Latex Fashion Collective Chaos Design interview
•
When did you start your career as a latex clothing designer, and what inspired you to do it?
CollectiveChaos was founded in 2008. And even though it was created a bit spontaneously and was very rebellious at the time, as was our choice of material, in reality it was born out of a life long dream of being a fashion designer and having a thorough sewing and designing background.
Morning Glory Afternoon Delight and Late Night Hype are available in limited stocks on chaoslatex.com

What do you like about latex, and why is it your choice of fabric?
When your goal is to create sensual clothing with an artistic approach, there are few materials that compare to latex. Latex is glued, as opposed to sewed, allowing for creative seaming and layering, which would not be possible with other fabrics, with exception of maybe leather or vinyl. Latex is a cruelty-free, eco-friendly alternative to both. In addition, latex can also be perforated and cut into intricate appliques, printed or painted, molded and textured as well as combined with other fabrics, such as lace and feathers to create unforgettable combination of textures. In addition to all the creative possibilities, even the simplest latex pieces make you feel sensual, invincible and extremely confident - all this makes latex quite unique and very rewarding to work with. •
Where do you get inspiration for your creations?
Everywhere! We love vintage classics, superhero motifs, geometry, nature’s pattWerns, raw sexuality and femininity of the models we work with, who have inspired some of our most famous and successful pieces. Nothing beats designing for a specific woman - it’s a very intimate, delicate and endlessly exhilarating process. • What makes the Collective Chaos Design brand different from other brands?

cost/highest profit model is not applicable when you work and create from the heart. Like for any artisan, personalized approach and relationships with customers is key. One of our favorite things about latex fashion industry is that it is one of the only industries left that is almost entirely hand made. • What makes your clothing great? Is it the high quality material, the handcrafting, and are there special products that you use? Any others? We thrive on artistic approach. We see each piece and a painting or sculpture, always pushing the limits what can be done to create infinitely more interesting ways to wrap art around the body, as can be well seen in such pieces are the Octopussy Dress, Ursula Gown and Art Deco Sunset Dress, for example. We love to explore and manipulate the material, always learning something new and using it in new ways, such as weaving on our Aphrodite gown and our exclusive stretch lace inserts. We also have an exclusive system of hand perforation, which allows us to create far more intricate patterns than a laser cutter and make seamless perforated dresses, such as the Dragonfly Dress – which would simply be impossible to create with a machine. We are also, to the best of our ability, an eco-friendly brand. We tailor each piece to fit precise body measurements, not skipping on curves and lines just because latex has forgiving fit due to its stretch. Everything is always done with maximum attention to the customer and the process, every step. •
What is your daily routine?
As any modern artist and businesswoman, my life borders somewhere between infinitely routine and boring to endlessly exciting and unpredictable! Careful and thorough scheduling, lists, inventory and purchase orders seamlessly intertwine with exciting last minute orders, collaborations, wild parties, fashion shows, high fashion magazine pulls and celebrity custom requests! And I love it all. I have a great team and a rock-solid partner that take me through anything this business brings. I am an early riser and go to bed late. Days are not long enough as they are. I am a health food fanatic and am obsessed with exercise. My favorite work-out is pole dancing, closely followed by crossfit and marathon training. I love all our customers and models and spend a lot of time personally communicating with each one. I love the business and always look to improve our line, as well as our efficiency. I enjoy coordinating in the studio, knowing first hand the status of orders and new pieces, as well as all photo-shoots and collaborations we do. Any free time each day is spent sketching designs, painting, enjoying my family, all our animals and possibly a good book or movie. •
Do you have a favorite latex creation that you designed?
I am in love with all the pieces we carry – simple classics as well as high end couture pieces. If I fall out of love with a piece, it gets discontinued. It is important to enjoy your work, only then the best results can be achieved and loving the pieces you work on or sell is an integral part of that process.

Hera lace Gown The Hera Gown is as regal as it is seductive. Featuring daring lace inserts on the front panel, as well as the back, which drapes down to the floor, it is truly eye catching. It has a corset line waist enhancing top and a long bell bottom skirt, with an intriguing zipper in the front. It is decorated with intricate trim lines and has a sexy low cut back along with ribbon lacing. available on Chaos Latex Shop
Aphrodite Gown The kinky side of Aphrodite would be, no doubt, proud of this full length classic style gown. Flowing, figure enhancing lines and an absolutely unique weaving technique make this piece nothing short of a classic. The weaving lines seemingly merge into shoulder straps and vertical decorative trim of the skirt. The gown features a back zipper and is floor length. available on Chaos Latex Shop

What is your favorite clothing type - dresses, skirts, shirts, pants, lingerie?
All pieces have a purpose and an occasion. I love feminine gowns and dresses, but what can beat a well tailored suit on a woman? And lingerie, well… If it is made with taste and worn with style, anything goes. • For a woman who is buying latex clothing for the first time, what styles or accessories would you suggest? Skirts are a very easy entry piece, very popular with our first timers and mainstream fashionistas. A lot of them simply wear them like leather skirts, with a heel and a cashmere sweater. Pencil or mini skirts, as well as little halter dresses are fun, flexible and not intimidating, yet making a statement. Simple lingerie pieces are great to try something new in the bedroom, and swimsuits fit seamlessly into anyone’s closet for a day at the pool. •
What do you think is a must-have accessory for a woman?
Women’s needs, tastes, looks, styles and desires very so greatly, I would not even risk generalizing! Whatever makes her feel instantly sexy and confident. • What do you see in the future for the latex clothing industry? Do you think one day we will see latex worn by women for everyday clothes? Latex has definitely increased in popularity, as the techniques and materials have become more accessible, and social media and online retailing has opened doors to direct marketing to customers. This has given rise to a lot of new talent, designs and venues to wear and enjoy latex. However, latex has been, is and always will be a specialty material. Just like leather, for example, or silk, people that own them have a unique appreciation for the materials and do not mind the higher maintenance they require. Latex is not going to be off the rack, maintenance free, cheap clothing because it is still largely hand made, requires special care and it is uniquely sensual. •
How to Wear and Care latex clothing?
Latex can be worn as many ways as your imagination can allow you to come up with. From discreet pieces under everyday clothing to all out, over the top styles. Main thing to remember is your comfort and taking care of the material itself. Latex must be kept away from flames and any sharp objects, as well as any metal that has brass in it, as brass stains latex. UV damage is the next threat, as it breaks down latex – so it needs to be protected with either powder or shine at all times. Latex must be stored washed and dried, powdered and enclosed in a dark cool place between wearing to ensure longevity. NOCTURNE BLUE
When did everything start? Who are the persons behind Nocturne Blue? How and when was the group born? How have you met each other? Have you studied or played music before?
Nocturne Blue began about a year ago as a dream of mine to work with some of the best musicians in the world within a downtempo, trip-rock context and to create live shows which treated the visual and musical components with equal importance. My main collaborator this past year has been touch guitarist Markus Reuter. We were introduced by our mutual friend, drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson, XTC). Markus is a truly gifted and disciplined artist and this project allows him to experiment with tones and textures in somewhat different ways from how he might work with someone like Tony Levin or Adrian Belew (with whom he also performs). I like to imagine him in Nocturne Blue as 70’s era Robert Fripp playing 80’s My Bloody Valentine loops. As for my background, I went to a performing arts high school to study opera technique, dance and theatre. I have been recovering since! My college degree was in film production and visual communication. The instrument I love to play most is bass. The word “Nocturne” comes from the French, does this have any meaning for your band? Or having it in your band’s name has any connection with the famous XIII composer Fryderyk Chopin? If yes, does his compositions inspire your work? If not, what inspires you and your music? “Nocturne” simply refers to a mood or feeling which we hope to evoke with our music: the possibilities of night. I can’t speak for anyone else, but what inspires me most musically is honesty within a performance. This could take form within a 90 piece orchestra or simply one girl with a badly tuned guitar in a coffee shop...the point at which an artist is able to forget and be within or part of the music rather than “performing” the work is I think the most beautiful thing in the world. Of course, this takes either a lot of practice or blind stupidity. Or both! Do you compose your own music or you have someone who helps you with that part? Unless we are reworking a cover song, yes, the music is composed by myself with input from Markus. But I am always open to other, future collaborations if it feels right. I would love to work with another vocalist.

How do you describe your music genre in three words? “Melancholic Evening Rock”... but I should probably write something like “Giraffe Sex Candy” to seem ironic and mysterious. About your new album, we know it will be called ‘Circle Around the Synthetic Sun’ and it will be released in Spring, 2015. What should we expect from it? How many songs will be on that album? We have 6 songs mixed and ready. 8 others are almost finished. 20 or so more in the pipeline. A lot to choose from! We’ll see what fits.
Since your first single release “Always Falling”, has your style evolved or changed in any way? Or are you considering adopting a different style in future, maybe? ‘Always Falling’ was simply me playing everything in an attempt to get the project studio up and running and to be able to show other musicians an example of what directions we might try. (continues..) ShinyQueens.com

...Our style will inevitably change, depending on the studio, players, what we’re reading at the time, relationships, etc. But it will remain under an umbrella of familiarity... because I believe that an audience’s expectation is half of the conversation. Visual art is something really “strong and omnipresent” in your videos and on your social media channel, and your Tumblr seems like a beautiful Art Gallery http://nocturne-blue.tumblr.com/ . What do those artistic pictures mean to you? Is there any connection between the music you play and the visual art? Yes! It’s all connected. I’ve always argued that even if a listener has headphones on with their eyes closed, shutting out the world... that they will still see images and dreams and visions... so why would a band not want to help guide what the listener sees when listening to its music? Tumblr is my favorite social media platform. It’s like being the curator of a private museum with infinite finances. I can imagine someday soon museums and galleries having celebrity Tumblr pop-up exhibitions to get new patrons through the doors. Purists will hate it and boards will appreciate the income. Can you tell us about some of your future plans, such as new music styles, new albums or some tours, maybe? Do you have any concerts planned for the near future? If yes, can you also tell us where will they be held and how we can attend them? Yes, there will be shows. Real and virtual. That’s about all I can say at the moment. Thank you for the time you spent with us! Thank you! Best wishes for your success with the new magazine. Dutch, Nocturne Blue’s ringleader

Literature & Books 50 SHADES OF GREY BY
50 Shades of Grey is an erotic romance novel, actually the first one in a trilogy written by British author E. L. James. The storyline follows the relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. The book is filled with explicit erotic scenes, which involve descriptions of various sexual practices, such as BDSM. It is considered to be the fastest selling adult novel ever and it is especially enjoyed by women worldwide, who seem to be completely attracted to this book.

E.L.JAMES
The 50 Shades of Grey centers the attention on Anastasia Steele, who is a twenty years old woman who in the beginning of this book has only a few weeks until graduation, and on Christian Grey, who is a 27-years old billionaire obsessed with sex. While Anastasia is looking for a regular boyfriend who would treat her like a lady, kiss her and do everything a regular boyfriend would, Christian is interested in hard-core sex, involving different sex practices, such as bondage, dominant/submission
and stuff like that. The book is especially famous for its writing style, which openly talks about sex, by explicitly describing sex scenes taking place between the two protagonists – Anastasia and Christian – who obviously fall in love with each other. As presented in the book, they are both very good looking and they feel attracted to each other right from the first moment they see each other.
