DESIGN, DIGITALISATION, COORDINATIONS, PRESENTATION

The client’s requirement, in accordance with city regulations, was to ensure seamless integration with both the surroundings and the main road junction. The rounded corners preserve the design language of the entire building ensemble, blending harmoniously into the local conditions. Our main tasks included hotel planning to Marriott standards and a complete redesign of the facade. The luxury villa features local stone cladding, while the larger apartment and hotel complex have vertical terracotta cladding with horizontal connecting bands

The client’s requirement was for a cost-effective and easily executable design. Additionally, the new design should complement, rather than overshadow, its iconic neighbor. The design language of the neighboring building was incorporated, ensuring coherence with the new proposal. An efficient floor plan was designed to meet H+ hotel standards

The Tower located in Europa Allee Frankfurt is aligned with the main axis making the 60m high tower prominent. The 17 storey tower is sliced into two and shifted. From the 7th floor there is reverse shifts happening which splits the tower into smaller volumes which creates better scale relationship with the context. The tower is aminly for office use made with small rental units, with max 400 sqm. Ground lfoor of the tower has the lobbies and delivery. DYMANIC FORM

+ FIRM - KSP JÜRGEN ENGEL ARCHITECTS, FRANKFURT + ROLE - DESIGN ARCHITECT

DESIGN, MODELLING, PRESENTATION + YEAR - 2017

An urban feature of the property with the address Kaistraße 1 is that it is surrounded on all sides by streets and public spaces and approach was to trace the plot layout with a flowing, dynamic building form. The architecture emphasises on the horizontality, projecting and receding ceiling edges. Vertical slats, which are slightly perforated and rotatable, serve as passive sun protection. Like a dynamically curved curtain, they enclose the transparent outer skin and also ensure a strong depth effect on the façade.

The floor-to-ceiling, glazed element facade with triple-glazed glazing ensures optimum exposure of the workplaces and immediate external space cover. The elegant façade, together with the open ground floor, creates a distinctive and high-quality address for the tenants in Düsseldorf’s Medienhafen. The timeless architecture stands out from the troubled, partly heterogeneous environment.

ARCHITECTURE & URBAN DESIGN

+ ROLE - DESIGN ARCHITECT

RENOVATION DESIGN & MODELLING

+ YEAR - 2016

Xujiahui’s new sports hub shall build Shanghai’s image as a world renowned host for major international events. The design proposal follows a three layered concept:

+ DRAMA (events) - A dramatic stage for major international sports & entertainment events.

+ FOCUS (sports) - Opportunities to practice different sports on an individual level.

+ FLOW (community) - A vibrant new health themed landscape for the general public.

Current issues of the complex - it’s unsuitable for high level international competitions, current functions which are unrelated to sports & segmented spaced which are unwelcoming & unclear. The important scope of architecture is to give a facelift (stadium, gymnasium, pool & hotel tower) considering economic & practical aspects.

01 CURRENT SITUATION

+ Lack of aesthetic appeal, failed to integrate with the city, unable to use for international events

02 PROPORSAL - BETTER SPACES & LINKAGES

- new access stairs & LED mesh facade

New commercial spaces supporting sports Gymnasium

New entry / ticketing centers

+ Improved spectator flow, zones supporting daily urban life & event mode, commercial spaces dedicated for sports

+ Tracing the edge condition & the existing projections on top of main entry.

+ New articulated ramps for spectators flow & linking the main concourse. Connecting bands at the top and entry level.

+ Vertical light fins creates a visual barrier between insideoutside, while still allowing wind movement. Entry level bands for gate signage’s.

+ Emphasized entry & articulated stairs

+ Monumental new stairs & post tensioned cables for LED mesh screen

PETE MANE SUB URBAN HOUSE

MODERN RURAL REFLECTIONS

+ FIRM - ARCHITECTURE PARADIGM, BANGALORE, INDIA

DESIGN & COORDINATION + YEAR - 2012

the screens are designed along the roadside offering privacy to the residence. This aspect adds to the idea which is a result of orienting the spaces towards the interiors rather than the street or outside and critically acknowledges changing structure of the town

The site is a 2400 Sqft plot, located in a rural town Gundlupet, India. The surrounding rural landscape here is giving way to, enigmatic developments and placeless structures inspired by urban imagery. The process was to look at these conditions and evolve a form that maintains a sense of continuum with the idea of a place without resorting to mimicking the old.

the central bay is seen as double height where the upper level spaces look into it futhering the idea of focusing internally

two volumes are subtracted from this and moves to the upper level. One of the open space is seen as multipurpose space/car park. the other is an open to sky court yard located towards the rear.

The brief described a three bed room house which can accommodate 2 families and a social lifestyle. The design for the house draws from the lowrise, dense development bordering rural landscape. The courtyard and open spaces were considered not as an open residue, as it happens in most of the 2400 sft plots, but as a valuable space which enlivens the experience. The facade elements are used vertically and horizontally to form surfaces lending privacy while delivering filtered light, as a result, the façade is about the textural surface highlighting the introverted nature of the house.
