REFLECTION #13 November 10-14, 2014 Every week passed, is another week closer to saying goodbye to my students. They have certainly been a handful but I know that when I leave I’m going to miss them anyways. This week went by very fast, especially because there were two days with no class. One of them was a holiday and the other one was a misunderstanding between the Director, the faculty and the parents. Now this week, my students have not been behaving well. Even one of the girls who is usually still was acting up. This girl has her bigger sister in my class as well because she was held up a grade. Her sister saw her attitude and questioned it herself and told her that she was going to let her mother know. This means that by next week, I have to come up with a totally new plan to control my students. This will most probably include a new seat arrangement, new motivational techniques and start giving out reward coupons every day for god behavior (yes… a little bit of Skinner’s Operant Conditioning). But then again, coming to think of it, I did skip the morning song and a couple of the routines. Maybe that threw them off from what they are accustomed to in my classroom. I am still going to incorporate these changes (the ones I mentioned before), but I will do my 100% best to give them a morning routine that prepares them and lowers down all their anxiety. Next week is going to be tough because it’s Puerto Rican Week and the school has things going on the entire week, but I hope to accomplish each and one of my objectives for nest week because time is running out and I want my kids to learn everything they can so that when they go

to fourth grade and their teacher is explaining them a topic they can say, Oh I remember that, Ms. Shirlenne taught us! (or next semester in my case).
