An Initiative To Promote The Noble Cause Of Providing Education To The Needy By VV Minerals

The Nellai Marathon that was held on 20th July 2014 in Tirunelveli was an attempt towards the creation of an improved society and community by way of spreading education. VV Minerals is a part of this great cause in partnership with Vodafone to promote awareness and education. VV Minerals being the associate partner nominated five of its students from the VV College of Engineering for this particular event. VV Minerals has always been associating with great causes in order to help build a positive and healthy environment in the society. The Marathon was flagged off at 5.30 AM by the District Sport Officer, Mr. Frank Paul Jeyaseelan and other events were also flagged off by eminent personalities like T.P Suresh Kumar and Mrs. Melba Mary.

VV Minerals also launched a special campaign that was the ‘Education for All’ at Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Perambalur and Trichy districts under which they distributed books in the nearby schools. Apart from this VV Mineral was also involved in providing basic infrastructure like black boards, chairs and tables to the schools. The social initiative

by VV Minerals has impacted close to around 30,000 students in 175 schools. The note book distribution campaign has been now running successfully for around 12 years. S. Vaikundarajan always believes that everyone has a right over gaining education and that is the reason behind him trying his level best to provide students who are in need with whatever little he can.

This Marathon initiated keeping in mind the social well being uses all the proceeds in helping all those who are extremely capable of doing great in academics but unfortunately cannot afford education. Moreover, VV Minerals also sponsors ‘Subbiah Nadar Scholarship’ for the meritorious students in Tirunelveli district and quite a few have hugely benefited from this.

VV Minerals though a private heavy mineral mining company has always been involved in such social activities because their Chairman and Managing Director, S. Vaikundarajan believes in helping those who are in need. S. Vaikundarajan also said, “We are committed to the cause of education and we will make sincere efforts for providing easy access to learning and enlightenment to the poor and needy students

who can’t afford to go to schools and education is a dream.

We want to enrich the lives of students as a socially responsible company in a sustained manner and hence we have partnered with Nellai marathon for cause of education in smaller towns.�
