Illegal Heavy Mineral Mining Not Conducted By VV Minerals The Indian government should remember that banning an industry that has consecutively been providing profits and employment for thousands of people is not a good idea. Even more the government needs to further look into the impact the illegal mining business will have on the country's future. In India thousands of people are affiliated with the mining industry. But if a ban were to take place scores would be without a job, which will further lead to more poverty in the underdeveloped regions of the country.
The Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) says illegal sand mining should not be conducted. As per the AERB’s regulations strict rules are placed towards the private mineral mining companies like VV Mineral. These rules and regulations have to be followed by every company says the Director of the company J. Muthurajan, who further states that VV Mineral follows all such rules and regulations during such activities.
For the state of Tamil Nadu, the mineral mining business brings in a huge amount of profits and VV Mineral has played a part in it. Nevertheless, with the rising fraud cases, the stigma of being a mining company makes public perception on the industry controversial.
VV Minerals is one of the top companies in the heavy mineral mining business. Based in Tamil Nadu and owned by Mr. Vaikundarajan, the company is one of the top players in the industry. The company was said to be involved in illegal sand mining in Tamil Nadu. These were false allegations set up rival organizations. As soon as the complaints were registered VV Mineral stopped any forms of productions until thorough investigations were conducted.
As the investigations concluded, the company was proven innocent, but an allegation like this affects a company’s reputation. The heavy mineral mining business is one industry that is helping improve and better our international trade relations with countries like China.
Recently, in the Economic Times, VV Mineral’s Managing Director V Subramanian explained the adverse effects of how the government has neglected the industry. He also spoke about the high export duty put on their products by the government. Later on, he would further tell the Daily Pioneer about the government’s failure to recognize the worth of ilmenite in India. The metal, is used to make titanium dioxide (Ti02). This component is useful in industries such as paints and coatings, plastics, paper, ink and many other such materials.
VV Minerals deals with heavy mineral mining of basically four minerals -- garnet, zicron, rutile and ilmenite. The company does not indulge in the thorium mining business. The were some allegations put on the company about the same, but the company was proven uninvolved in the thorium mining scam. V.V. Mineral serves to domestic as well as international market. They have significant market share in Europe, Middle East, East Asia, Australia and USA.
