Subbiah Vaikundarajan’s Dream for a Developed India Subbiah Vaikundarajan is from Kanyakumari and belonged to a family that made jaggery for a

living. However, in the year 1989, he broke away from the family tradition and started his own business of mining heavy minerals from

the sea shore. His long sought vision of understanding the importance of these minerals took him long way in the industry even in global markets.

This visionary young man had seen what the present generation still lack knowledge of.

It wasn’t easy for him living in the coastal regions of South India where the most common professions included jaggery making, fishing and farming to take up a profession so unconventional. He built VV Minerals from a small scale company to a global company.

VV Minerals, India is based in Tisayanvilai in Tamil Nadu and deals with mining of minerals like garnet, ilmenite, rutile and zircon. S. Vaikundarajan is the founder and chairperson of the company, his son V. Subramanian is the Managing Director.
