The Illegal Mining To The Tune Of Rs 96k Crore Pointed Towards VV Minerals Chairman Vaikundarajan Proven False

Last year there were reports stating that VV Mineral the leading heavy mineral mining company based in Tamil Nadu and owned by Mr. S. Vaikundarajan were involved in illegal mining of radioactive minerals like Thorium. The scam was allegedly worth 96k crore, however, these claims have been dismissed as the owner was found innocent.

When the police officials and the government agencies checked the premises of VV Minerals, no evidences of any illegal activities were found. They had complied with all the statutory clearances and abided by all the rules prescribed by the state government agencies.

No illegally hoarded radioactive minerals were found in the premises. Thus, indicating that VV Mineral, Vaikundarajan was framed in the scam. The main motive for this was believed to be

Apparently, this was a whole conspiracy planned and executed brilliantly by Mr. Dayadevadas, the owner of a rival company. He appointed two retired IAS officers, one of them named Ashwin Kumar and the other, V. Sundaram. They produced false documents and tricked them into a scam that they were never a part of.

VV Minerals, India mainly deals with heavy mineral mining of four minerals, namely, garnet, zircon, rutile and ilmenite. They do not deal with thorium mining.
