Head to Tilbury Cove at Culburra Beach or Callala Bay for lovely, shaded areas to throw your picnic rug down and enjoy the calm and clear, shallow waters. Moona Moona Creek is a favourite spot at Huskisson where visitors and locals alike can explore the fl ats at low tide. Sculpt a masterpiece from the white sands at Greenpatch or Scottish Rocks in Booderee or enjoy the freshness of an ocean pool at Ulladulla.

Palm Beach at Sanctuary Point is another beautiful location for kayaking and SUP adventures in shallow sheltered waters. Protected from the northeast winds, it has great amenities, including parking, BBQs and kids’ play equipment. Perfect for an all-day stay. Throw a line in here or head around to Sussex Inlet where you can hire a boat for a taste of local river life.

Get active outdoors on the high ropes with Treetops Adventure or explore the Shoalhaven Zoo right next door and stay for lunch at the Zoo Café. Take adventure to the next level and get vertical with a rock climbing or abseiling session with Nowra Climb or Outdoor Raw. Family fun is easy to fi nd at Shoalhaven. With quiet bays and beaches, kid friendly eateries, and active experiences, there are so many options to keep the whole gang entertained, whatever the weather.

If it rains on your parade, Funland in Ulladulla is a great all-weather option full of arcade games and rides, or you can abseil away at Indoor Climb South Coast at Huskisson. Eco-cruises are all-weather activities as the whales and dolphins don’t mind getting wet and the boats have covered areas to enjoy a gentle cruise out in Jervis Bay. If you feel like catching a fl ick, then head to the cinema in Nowra, Huskisson, Sussex Inlet, or Ulladulla.

For history buffs, the extensive collection at the Pioneer Village Museum at Kangaroo Valley is a wonderful showcase of time gone by. Nerd out at the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum and gallery and play on the historic Lady Denman Ferry or check out the mangrove boardwalk.
