Sidle up to the bar and experience Nowra’s vibrant brewing and distilling scene. Local twins Simon and Joey turned a passion for home brewing into thriving microbrewery, South Yeast Brewing. Expect to find creative flavours inspired by their deep connection to the community, like their Hyper Stout – a coffee chocolate stout infused with local roaster Hyper Hyper’s own espresso. Husky Brewing in South Nowra offers a range of distinctive beers brewed onsite and is the perfect dog-friendly space to enjoy sundowners with man’s best friend. Tara Distillery is the home of Shoalhaven’s own internationally award-winning, handcrafted gin, vodka, whiskey and liqueurs, proudly made in the heart of the South Coast. Newcomer Old Salt Distillery is a small batch brewery and distillery run by husband-and-wife Terry and Michelle with an open kitchen, wood-fired grill and a menu that hints at this couple’s fine-dining pedigree. Out towards the coastal town of Huskisson you’ll find the relaxed beer garden setting of Jervis Bay Brewing Co, where a range of intriguingly named brews reference local history and landmarks and where sustainability is at the heart of everything they do. A three-minute hop, skip and jump up the road will take you to Flamin Galah Brewing Co where not only will you be able to sample an expansive range of beer but an impressive cocktail list too, with some based on their very own vodka.

Further south, the Milton Hotel is home to Dangerous Ales and is the place where the three fundamental Fs (flavour, food and fermentation) combine for an astronomical gastronomical experience.
