'Apple iphone 6' to launch on Oct. 14 as part of 'hectic month' Including in rumour and speculation bordering Apple's very expected "iPhone 6" debut, a questionable record on Thursday claims the company will be launching the handset on Oct. 14, one month after an introduction in September.
According to a person with knowledge of an Apple Store meeting, MacRumors states Apple is preparing to announce the next-generation iPhone 6 at an event planned for Sept. 16, to be followed by an initial roll out on Oct. 14. Both dates fall on a Tuesday, a day Apple typically except for significant news, not item releases. For example, in 2012's iPhone Fives and iPhone 5c debuted at an unique event on Tuesday, Sept. 10, while the iPad Air was revealed a month later Tuesday, Oct. 22. The Oct. 14 date is highly suspicious given Apple's performance history in launching iPhone items on Fridays, but the source claims Apple would like to push launch up earlier in the week because of higher customer need and accessibility to a more than appropriate cache of gadgets thanks to a massive production ramp-up.
