SHOP-SA is the Association for Stationery, Home and Office Products of Southern Africa. The Association, first called the “Transvaal Stationers’ Association”, was founded in 1916 and its first elected board had 16 members. The Association will be 107 years in January 2023 and we currently have 30 members, representing some of the biggest buyer groups, supplier groups and retailers.

G o o d b y e W e n d y ! S p r i n g A c t i v i t i e s Have a super day

Whenever you spoke to Wendy at SHOP-SA, she would end the conversation or email with her famous saying “have a super day ”!

As we say goodbye to Wendy, who will be leaving SHOP-SA at the end of November, we also want to say “have a super day ” for ever y day that will follow!

Wendy (Dancer) Bezuidenhout has been with the Association since 2011 and she has collected many stories and anecdotes about the industr y, the Association and its people. She has also been through a lot with the Association – from its glor y years, through changes in the operations of the Association right up to where we are today.

As an integral par t of the team for so many years, Wendy has filled various roles – administrator, assistance editor and also main adver tising coordinator. Her memor y, and excellent administrative ability, has been ver y valuable when tr ying to recall past events, previous copies of the magazine or even people that used to be involved with our member firms.

We will cer tainly miss her passion for the industr y and for the Association but also her institutional knowledge. As we par t ways, we wish Wendy a bright and happy future in her new environment! As we steer the Association ship on its new course we believe that the new crew on board will soon become popular with our members, readers and adver tisers too!

Wendy has always been willing to guide and advise on ever y ar ticle and to steer the uninitiated in the right direction. A generous spirit with a real passion for her dogs and grandkids, always busy and on the go. Her spontaneity and enthusiasm will be missed and her tireless energy to get ever ything done by deadline!

Wherever she goes, she will be a positive energy and will make the world of difference especially given her extensive experience and “jill- of-alltrades” abilities. We wish her well and ever y success in her new endeavours, wherever and whatever they may be.�
