“backyard!” September 6 to October 26, Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Under the direction of Amy Moyer and Shannon Richard, children of all ages and their caregivers enjoy songs, nursery rhymes, and stories together in the library’s backyard. Online registration is required weekly.

• Summer StoryWalk®The Lititz Public Library’s summer StoryWalk® title is The Big Umbrella by Amy June Bates. A sweet book about friendship, inclusiveness, and shelter from the rain. The StoryWalk® begins to the right of the entrance to the Lititz Public Library and moves counterclockwise around the library.

The Ladies of the Ephrata Reading PA Elks Lodge #115 gave an annual scholarship to a deserving young person in the community who will be furthering his education by attending a trade/technical school. Shown in the photo, from left to right, are Kieran McEvoy, scholarship winner from Cocalico High School; Sharon Klepchick, Lady Elks President; and Larry Greathouse, Exalted Ruler. Kieran will be attending Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology majoring in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Congratulations to this hard-working student.

17 at 6:30 p.m. The jazz group Temple Avenue brings the swing wherever they play - swing dances, concerts, church services, restaurants, you name it. Formed by Lancaster musicians and their friends at Temple University, the band has become one of the region’s most popular and versatile jazz ensembles. This energetic group is sure to delight audiences of all ages with their take on jazz classics as well as their fresh interpretation of many favorite jazz and swing tunes. Concert will be outdoors, please bring a blanket or chairs. In the event of bad weather concert will move inside. Online registration is required and begins August 3.

• Knitting Club - Monday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. There will be no meeting on Tuesday, August 29. Knitting Club meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, from 10:00 a.m. until noon and the last Tuesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Knitting Club is for people who knit and like to share the craft. This is not a class or instruction, just friendly gathering to knit and work on projects. Must bring all your own supplies. Crocheters also welcome. No registration required.

• Painting ClubWednesday, August 23 at 12:30 p.m. Meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. Bring your own painting supplies. Get together with others to paint and socialize. No registration required.

• Lititz Art AssociationTuesday, August 29. No registration required.

• Backyard Storytime registration begins Wednesday, August 23. Fall Backyard Storytime - Meet together outdoors in the library’s

• Paws to Read - Thursday, August 17 at 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Children can practice their reading-aloud skills by reading their favorite stories to therapytrained dogs. Register online two weeks prior to program.

• Kid’s Yoga - Friday, August 18 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 6 to 9. Register online two weeks prior to the program.

• Wacky Wednesday!Wednesday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m. Hear a story and then go explore several hands-on stations that relate to the theme. This program will provide school readiness skills and STEM activities. Online registration begins 2 weeks prior.

• Farmer’s Market read aloud and craft - Thursday, August 31, every half hour beginning at 4:30 p.m. Stop by the library’s stand at the Lititz Farmers Market to hear a story and have fun with a craft. No registration needed.
