DO U B L E FA N TASY In this set the model/photographer (or photographer/model) Alexandrine Gillis and the photographer Larry Woodmann (though note his discretion, also as model in this case) have fun together in a game of shooting each other in the name of creativity and imagination. As the story unfolds photos, Larry leaves his serious tone of business manager and Alexandrine the opposite: a black pant suit as if to follow Larry in his seriousness, ends stripped of all her clothes as if trying to get rid of this constraint initially wanted by Larry. “Power to the imagination” as a slogan of times gone but which finds in the artistic game of Alexandrine and Larry a new ‘68 to revive a boring sunny afternoon in an apartment in
Milan (in this sense the choice of the title taken from an album of John Lennon and Yoko Ono is completely consistent). The subsequent result is vibrant. Despite their extreme simplicity, the shots reveal the understanding that is created between the two artists during the shooting, in a succession of attitudes, perspectives and light and dark enhanced by the strict black and white of the entire series. A set undefined and undefinable and this is why we gladly publish as a good example of research and dialogue between two individuals in their artistic way: exclusively good photography. Just like starting over....

BIOGRAPHY My name is Priscila Maboni and I’m a brazilian photographer. My passion about photography was born when I was a journalism student. All my extra extra time was used in the black room with films, revelation liquids and testing the perfect time to reveal my images. From that analogic time has emerged a book, called “Arquitetura da Morte”, a collection of photos taken in cemeteries. Working in the press, I was immerse in the photojournalism as well. And it was not a surprise for anyone when decided, after at least 5 years in the journalism area, be a professional photographer and do it full time. So, come back to study, this time photography, of course. And took this so serious that I’ve become a teacher. My biggest ‘source’ of inspiration was my grandmother. One day, she was coming back from an event with her friends, wearing an special dress for the occasion. So proud of that that I took some photos. After, I put in a frame as a gift. The pleasure of that act and seeing her so happy about a simple picture was something difficult to forget. The voyage until today includes advertising, product and concert photos (still one of my favourites – this part of the job includes big names like Mayer Hawthorne, Pearl Jam and Austra). “Photography with feelings”. With this slogan in mind, today I do mostly portrait photoshoots and photograph people at all. Beside this, I’m always producing authorial (artistic/fine art) pictures. Life captured...

BOYZ Through the time, women have been in a struggle, trying to achieve a standard beauty that society says is the ideal. Often questioning the shape of the body, the color of the hair, the wrinkles in the skin. Most of the time, such fight is unfair, but it has a source - or more than one - that is not necessarily coming from themselves, but from society. Centuries of oppression had brought us to this. Although, men tend to feel uncomfortable with their bodies too. The main difference is that when this happens is when they look at the naked body of other man and not because they feel unhappy with their appearance until then. So, why are there less naked men than naked women in the media nowadays? The things we seek for entertainment says a lot about what
30
we are and what we can’t face or don’t tell. The sexism must be fought all the ways. So, there are several reasons for this set of photos. It’s not just because the female body appears more. The work is not a case of justice, but an opportunity to show more of the male beauty and bring in space to this kind of discussion. As well as the female, the male beauty can be found in the details. The project is called “Boyz”. The photos were made with the intention of show the singularity of the bodies and not to focus on the model’s faces. The post production includes noise and all the material is in black and white to reinforce the power of the human shapes.

BIOGRAPHY My name is Alex and I was born in Verona 31 years ago, I grew up thinking and seeing the world in my own way and often mocked for this. I carry out a normal life with my girlfriend and my dog, of course accompanied by a photograph! I get close to it about 5 years ago convinced by street photographer, but as time went on I realized that they were the faces, expressions, moods transmitted from the body to give me true emotions, to involve me. I figured this portrait specifically dedicated to the environmental portrait, erotic and sensual which, I do not want the male gender but can not be better expressed if not by the female body.
I do not think “Arrived” I do not think a photographic genius, indeed...I always turn the attention to the great cinematographer and have new guru of it. I do not like to do great deeds of post production and for this reason I chose (a little style, a little to diversificarmi) not to use the famous “Photoshop” but rather his younger brother and less powerful if we want to “lightroom” with which we are thousands and thousands less chance but I think there are the basics that lead us to say two things... shooting the photographer sees it before taking the picture and a picture is “wrong” to (for those who snaps) has only two real phases of post-production “move to trash” “empty trash”

business, as they are in their naturalness and femininity?
That of which I speak are sensual and erotic fantasies that often fervent for our minds, our senses and cravings...
The woman, object of desire, the only real source of desires in every part of the world is told in this set from noir where my model is like peek while naturally moves and excites natural causes and as if he knew to be spied on.
who among us would not want to spy on a beautiful woman, a girl in her everyday dress or undress? Who would not want to see through some hotel room where out elegant women in
The title “F” was born from wanting to make it even essential as essential eroticism and my view of it, “F” is the initial of the Italian word “femininity”.

BIOGRAPHY Born in 1978 in Romania, Mishu Vass started photography in her early childhood years, in an attempt to add mood and visual content to her writings. Later, she studied French and Romanian Literature at “Babes-Bolyai University” of Cluj-Napoca and then became Master in Comparative Literature. She wrote poems, novels and short essays, and her exhaustive studies on existentialism and the culture as a mathematical phenomena have been published by prodigious publishing houses in her country. Since “it turned out that, eventually, words are never enough”, Mishu Vass embraced once again the photography as a better way to express herself, starting the year of 2006. Mishu Vass is an active member of Art Limited, 1x.com and other important photographic communities, and some of her photographs have been awarded in international photography contests such as Px3 Paris, IPA, Photography Masters Cup and WPGA. Most of her photographs are available for visualization on her website.

BIOGRAPHY I am Steve Van Hoyweghen, a Belgian photographer living near Ghent. I work as an IT engineer for a large automotive company. My spare time is devoted to photography and traveling and if possible a combination of both. I have a broad interest when it comes to photography subjects, but recently I am focusing on conceptual, travel, urban and architectural topics. I am happy that SHOT! MAGAZINE offers me the opportunity showcasing some of my personal favorites. The first three pictures are part of the series “The flesh is weak.” Here I created still-life photo’s referring to human weaknesses. The following three pictures are from the series “Food photography?” where I stage food, or references to food, in unusual configurations. The remaining photographs “Travel impressions” were captured while traveling. I try to capture the less obvious, often transforming unremarkable subjects to compositions pleasing the eye.

BIOGRAPHY I was born in Tokyo, Japan. And I live in Tokyo now. I have no style about the photography yet. Only I can say is that my interests are focused on the “Street”. So I shoot anything that attracts me on the street. Mostly in Tokyo and sometimes in abroad where I trip to. I have been so into the photography after I got a SLR and a mirrorless camera 4 years ago. Last summer, suddenly I got interested about the street photography, inspired by Daido Moriyama, W. Klein, HCB and my favorite, Shoji Ueda. Once we get into the city, we can see various scenes, nothing special just as usual. However if we see very careful, we can find the valuable, superb and spontaneous moment at there with the unique human behavior, the geometry cross lines by architects and/or the gorgeous lines of the changing shape of lights and shadows with time. Regarding the street photography, I am not interested in “just a shape” or “just a composition” such as the human in the geometry without any spontaneous moment, story or emotions. I have been trying to express the superb scene on my photography which can be shot only through my eyes at special moment with some story or emotions. It never happened to me yet. That is why I cannot help but shoot the city.
