About
Gennaro Santaniello was born in Naples in 1980. He approaches painting at a very young age. His training led him to graduate in engineering without ever abandoning his self-taught studies in painting. His art shows an innate propensity for realistic and hyper-realistic languages in both still lifes and portraits, where he prefers subjects wrapped in Caravaggesque light. His works often portray feminine faces, of marked beauty, in which he always tries to bring to light the emotions, through the attention to the details of the expressions and looks. Gennaro Santaniello has taken part in several group exhibitions both at public and private galleries, in Italy and abroad; his works are present in numerous private collections in Europe, United States, Australia and China.
