The layering process within Tamara White’s mixed media pieces reflects the multi-dimensional aspects of life: stories, memories, one experience layered upon the next. As we hold tight to some internal treasures and shed away others, the culmination of these elements creates a beautiful, blended canvas, rich with texture and color. Tamara’s work often incorporates found pieces, various papers, materials, and elements, coupled with paint and wax. As well, you may frequently find stories, quotes, or pertinent symbols woven into the finished surface. Tamara holds a B.A. degree in Human Development, an M.A. in Visual Communication Design, and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on museum studies and design thinking. Tamara lives between Berkeley, CA and NYC California United States of America
