James Halvorson b. 1974, Hettinger, ND. James Halvorson is an organizer, collaborator and studio artist with a dedicated studio practice since 2010. His paintings and mixed media work on paper have been featured in Studio Visit Magazine, Art Maze, & Fresh Paint Magazine. Halvorson has exhibited in the Portland, Oregon Metro area - where he currently resides - and has exhibited regionally on the Pacific Northwest. James received his BFA in painting from the University of South Dakota in 1998. As a student, Halvorson established the long held tradition of the Stillwell Des Refuses Annual Student Exhibition.
