About
Connie O’Connor is a Canadian artist whose focus is abstract work using acrylic and mixed media. She paints intuitively creating depth, movement and energy in each piece. As a prairie native growing up in Manitoba Connie’s inspiration came from big blue skies and sweeping vistas. Her interest in, and love for the arts began when she was young and evolved over the years through a teaching career in fashion and design. She hopes her viewers experience a peaceful, calm feeling and have a desire to stay longer with her work. To aid this she often uses inspirational names from her mindful meditation practise. She shows her work on line with several art councils, such as West Vancouver and Langley Arts. Vancouver’s Federation Gallery has featured some of her work in the gallery and on line also.

Field of Irises
Textural pastels and darker tones rise up to greet the viewer in this wondrously romantic vision of light and life. Gaja’s passion and dazzling expression of a ‘Field of Irises’ appeals to all of the senses. One can almost hear a harmonious melody floating through the air and smell a soft floral scent wafting by. Her fearless application of paint and marvelous composition, is an absolute achievement in palette and technique. -E.E. Jacks British Columbia Canada
