Colorful mixed-media work in which I explore a contemporary, exaggerated, and dynamic approach to portraiture and figurative pieces. Usually a series of work is derived from multiple photo sessions with models during which I often make use of height platforms in order to achieve a sense of distortion and forced perspective. Since lockdown I have reached out to photographer and models on Instagram to reference their images. The images I create or am inspired by are based on using regular and camera distorted images. Color and technique is important as I like to combine techniques together methodically by combining wet and dry mixed-media techniques in order to create an image that is part drawing, painting, and surface textile application.
