COMMUNITY GARDENS Community gardens have sprouted throughout the city of Danville and more could be on the way. garden in 2011. The garden at the Community Market on Craghead Street has 15 plots, and provides residents the opportunity to plant their own produce, get in touch with nature and teach their children about gardening. The Urban Farm at God’s Storehouse is a community farming space that works to increase the access of healthy food to area residents. Created in 2019,

the garden grows a variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the year that are donated directly to God’s Storehouse for distribution. The once empty lot now holds raised garden beds, a greenhouse, a fully stocked tool shed, and a composting facility. God’s Storehouse welcomes anyone to volunteer on the farm, no skills necessary.
