Building Our Industry’s Future: Perspectives from Key Players From Sunlight to a Sustainable US Fiber Industry: The Imperial Stock Ranch Story. Jeanne Carver, Imperial Stock Ranch Imperial Yarn descended out of a desert ranching operation in Oregon’s interior. Under the leadership of Jeanne Carver and her husband Dan, the Imperial Stock Ranch has successfully transitioned from selling wool as a commodity to selling ecologically produced, All-American wool yarns, fabrics, and finished goods in multiple markets. In an era of product traceability and accountability, Imperial Yarn has scaled up while maintaining its intimate connection to the source, and connecting the American textile value chain in a mutually beneficial network. Through their success, the Carvers have helped open doors for other American fiber growers to achieve similar success. (Photo credit to C. Paul Thacker.)

Accoyo America Hope Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 32453607 DOB: 10/2/2015 Color: White Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Snowmass Defiance Dam: Accoyo America Heliantha

They are all hard to part with — this one especially. Hope is a high genetic value Snowmass Defiance daughter out of Heliantha, a Denali/Sunflower daughter. Heavy-boned with excellent capacity for a young animal, Hope sports a dense, fine, brilliant white fleece with a high degree of micron uniformity and consistent organization across her blanket. She has an attractive head and excellent coverage. Naturally, she will be on our show string as soon as she is old enough. Put her on yours until she is ready for her complimentary breeding to any of our males. Blink and you will miss this one. EPDs Available: Sire, Dam, Possible Service Sires. 2016 Histogram: AFD: 16.1, SD: 3.1, CV: 19.4, %>30: 0.4

A Paca Fun’s Tiger Lilly A Paca Fun Farm ARI: 35036210 DOB: 10/14/2015 Color: Medium Rose Gray Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Aussie .38 Special Dam: A Paca Fun’s Luna Rose What do you get when you pair a full pattern tuxedo rose gray sire with a full patterned rose gray dam? Sometimes you get exactly the same thing! A Paca Fun’s Tiger Lilly is a perfectly patterned tuxedo rose gray out of champion lineage on both sides of her pedigree. Her Dam is a multi champion sister to Super Sonic and one of our favorite production dams. Her sire Aussie .38 Special has shown his prepotency by knocking out outstanding cria time and time again. Tiger Lilly has a solid upright frame and a fleece that has a wonderful handle and excellent crimp. We expect her to follow in both of her parents foot steps in both the show ring and production! Tiger Lilly comes with a breeding to any of our non restricted herd sires. We would recommend A Paca Fun’s Ridiculous. 2016 Histogram: AFD: 17.7, SD: 4.2, CV: 23.4, %>30: 1.1

Lot 3

7SAF Furys En Chantment 7 Springs Alpaca Farm ARI: 35292388 DOB: 8/9/2015 Color: Light Brown Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: TGF Freedom’s Fury Dam: Sunset Hills Penelope

This half sister to 7SAF Firestorm is bound to enchant you. She displays a highly structured fine bright royal fleece, with a lovely handle. She is ready to win and when you are done with her show career she can return to breed with any on our champion fawn herdsire row. Our suggestion would be to Snowmass Best In Velvet. Awards: 2016 CABO Brown Juv. Female 2nd

Lot 4

CCNF Antebellum Cas-Cad-Nac Farm LLC ARI: 35238577 DOB: 10/2/2014 Color: Medium Brown Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Snowmass Matrix Majesty Dam: CCNF Bellisima One of the genetic epiphanies here over the past few years was the realization that Snowmass Matrix Majesty and the daughters and granddaughters of the late and great Accoyo Goddess, PPPeruvian Pachelbel, really made beautiful music together. CCNF Antebellum was originally conceived as a riff on her maternal aunt, CCNF Prima, who is likewise a Majesty/Pachelbel/SuperNova cross, one that also just happens to own 11 banners to her name as of this writing. It was also Prima that sparked the notion of then crossing our elite Majesty daughters with CCNF Elixir. That is certainly the direction we would encourage Antebellum’s new owners to take her, sending her back home with us for breeding after the POC. If unsure why, you need only to put your hands on Prima’s Elixir son, CCNF Dreadnaught, an automatic selection for our spring 2016 show strings. This is the type of quality that quite simply speaks for itself. Like all of our females, Antebellum is sold with a full reproductive guarantee! 2015 Histogram: AFD: 19.2, SD: 3.2, CV: 16.8, %>30: 0.5

ABFR Crimson Rose Alpaca Bella Fina Ranch LLC ARI: 32823257 DOB: 6/28/2015 Color: Light Fawn Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Accoyo America Sai-Hoji Dam: Bella Fina’s Sacajawea Crimson Rose is a female loaded with truly elite genetics. Her sire is full Accoyo Sai-Hoji, a multi color champion, who still possesses an amazing low micron of 21 at 11 yrs old. Her dam is the multi color champion Sacajawea, an Xxxtreme daughter! Crimson Rose has wonderful rich, bright, lustrous fawn fleece. She exhibits extreme fineness and a well defined blanket with a beautiful buttery handle. Her pedigree includes such royalty as 4Peruvian Legacy, El Nino, Caligula, Hemingway and Royal Rose. With a micron of 18 and comfort factor of 99.3 % she will be an asset to any top breeding program. When ready we would suggest breeding her to multi blue ribbon winner Accoyo America Kalispell or, if you prefer, I.A.O Supreme Color Champion Accoyo America Siddhartha. With either pairing we are confident she will produce one of your finest! We are including FREE transportation within the USA to and from our farm for her breeding when she comes of age. Snow Diamond Noblesse Snow Diamond Alpacas ARI: 32810578 DOB: 5/26/2015 Color: Light Fawn Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Crescent Moon’s Accoyo Nobility Dam: Snow Diamond Caramel Kiss Snow Diamond Noblesse just turned one year of age and is “bustin” to be in the show ring. We did not show her this past fall due to her age, plus she had an early shear date this year for the POC. Is she good? Oh, yeah! Noblesse has a super royal fleece with an AFD: 15.8, SD: 3.8 and CV: 23.8 with well-defined architecture. Is she premier seed stock? You betcha! Noblesse means “of noble birth or condition,” and that, in a word, describes this beautiful female. Noblesse’s sire is Crescent Moon’s Nobility, a 3x champion son of Legacy. Her dam is the daughter of the legendary MFI Peruvian Jericho, and her grandsire is another legendary, highimpact full Accoyo stud, PPPeruvian Royal Fawn. It’s been said that you just can’t get enough Royal Fawn, or Jericho for that matter! Noblesse comes with a breeding to any of our studs, including 2x IAO Supreme Champion Snowmass Defiance or Get-of-Sire winner Crescendo, who is a full brother to The Elite Maximus. 2015 Histogram: AFD: 15.8, SD: 3.8, CV: 23.8, %>30: 0.9

Hyacinth ED099 Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 351564282 DOB: 7/17/2015 Color: White Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Snowmass Pure Reserve XX Dam: FDA Rembrandt’s Magnolia 2016 Histogram: AFD: 14.7, SD: 2.7, CV: 18.1, %>30: 0.3 Awards: 2nd Place, Southern Select 2016 EPDs Available: Dam, Possible Service Sires

Arturo appreciates this female’s quality so much we’ll probably have to hold him back from the stage when we auction her. It’s true that Hyacinth’s exceptionally fine, uniform, long-stapled fleece is a perfect addition to our breeding program — but it would almost certainly be great for yours also. Hyacinth has been eye-catching from the moment she hit the ground, with a boxy, correct frame, upright carriage, and beautiful head complementing the elite fleece she carries. Her dam FDA Rembrandt’s Magnolia is a stunning female that has maintained a dense, bright, 19 micron fleece as a working dam. And her sire, the fawn Snowmass Pure Reserve, now stands at the Canadian powerhouse Ariya Alpacas, making his desirable genetics a bit harder to come by south of the border. Like all of our maiden females, Hyacinth comes with a complimentary breeding to any of our sires when she is ready.

Lot 8

Accoyo America Arctic Dream Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 35024149 DOB: 9/10/2015 Color: White Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Accoyo America Road Warrior Dam: Accoyo America Arctica 2016 Histogram: AFD: 15.1, SD: 2.8, CV: 18.8, %>30: 0.3

Arctic Dream is a full sister to one of our top herdsires, Arctic Warrior, and, with her true-to-type head, compact frame and exquisitely soft fine-crimped fleece, the cream of our 2015 crias at Accoyo America West. Her lineage combines Road Warrior’s Hemingway-Accoyo Nautilus and El Nino parent lines with dam Arctica’s mirror image background from a Nautilus daughter and El Nino son Polaris — a true masterpiece in sensible line-breeding. .Arctic Dream’s fiber statistics reflect her stunningly bright fleece with an AFD: 15.1, SD: 2.8, and CV: 18.8%, and only 0.3% of fibers > 30 microns. Mean crimp curvature is 56.5. With her combination of presence, true harmonic balance, and elite fleece, this female is a show-string leader. EPDs Available: Sire, Possible Service Sires.

Lot 9

Accoyo America Sweet Karoline Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 35156666 DOB: 8/7/2015 Color: Medium Brown Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Accoyo America Kashmir Dam: LMNA Matrix’s Sweet Emotion 2016 Histogram: AFD: 16.7, SD: 2.9, CV: 17.6, %>30: 0.5 Awards: 1st AOA Nationals 2016 1st and Reserve Champion, Southern Select 2016

Karoline’s superb brown fleece is what we expected from the combination of the genetics of her sire, Accoyo America Kashmir, with her dam, the brown Matrix daughter LMNA Matrix’s Sweet Emotion. Extremely bright, fine and uniform in micron, and carrying the high crimp frequency style of her sire, her fleece also demonstrates excellent organization and consistency across her blanket and into her extremities. Her proportions are correct and feminine. Most importantly, outstanding maintenance of elite fleece traits runs in this pedigree: Both sire and dam retained AFDs in the teens into their breeding years, and have excellent EPDs with high accuracies. You will have your pick of our herdsires for this exceptional female when she is ready to breed. EPDs Available: Sire, Dam, Potential Service Sire.

Lot 10

Accoyo America Dolomite Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 32453553 DOB: 8/22/2015 Color: White Gender: Male Status: Unproven Sire: Snowmass Defiance Dam: Hummingherd’s Delicata 2016 Histogram: AFD: 15.1, SD: 2.4, CV: 15.7, %>30: 0.4 Awards: 1st Place Northeast Alpaca Expo 2016

The pairing that produced Accoyo America Dolomite was designed to produce an animal that would maximize the potential to further improve our herd’s micron uniformity through its own offspring. Both Dolomite’s sire, Snowmass Defiance, and dam, Hummingherd’s Delicata, are in the top 0.2% of EPDs for SDAFD, and Dolomite’s 15.1 AFD, 2.4 SD fleece, reflects this genetic inheritance. We also appreciate the exquisite brightness, organization and softness of hand of this fleece, and Dolomite carries it on a strong, correct frame. We believe this young male could mature to be one of the impact herdsires of his generation, and are offering him only because of the opportunity to repeat the breeding that produced him. EPDs Available: Sire, Dam.

Lot 11

A Paca Fun’s Sonic Phantom A Paca Fun Farm ARI: 35037019 DOB: 9/23/2015 Color: True Black Gender: Male Status: Unproven Sire: A Paca Fun’s Super Sonic Dam: Ore Hill Principesa It is the goal of every breeder to produce excellent alpacas consistently. Alpacas that are prepotent, reliably passing on their excellent qualities year after year give us greater confidence that their offspring will produce the same way. Both of Sonic Phantom’s parents have been very consistent producers for us! Phantom himself is a very typey true black male destined for the show ring. His frame is solid and boxy, and his fleece is bright with good organization and crimp structure. Phantom’s genetic line has shown themselves to be lasting fine, often holding the AFDs they have as juvis well into their mature production years (his paternal grandsire, Silver Legend of KPR, is holding stats of 20.33 / 3.98 / 19.67 / 97.68 at 14 years of age). Beyond excellent fleece, his pedigree is also very color consistent. His Sire regularly produces silver gray and black out of non-black dams, and his dam has only given us silver gray or black. We expect Phantom to carry on the consistency of his pedigree in both fleece, and color production! 2016 Histogram: AFD: 18.55, SD: 4.0, CV: 21.5, %>30: 1.3

Stillmeadow Farm Honey Bee Stillmeadow Farm ARI: 35025733 DOB: 10/5/2015 Color: Dark Fawn Gender: Female Status: Maiden. Sire: Snowmass Conopa’s Kahuna Dam: Snowmass Bit Of Honey

It is with great reluctance that we are offering this young female to you. Stillmeadow Farm Honey Bee is one of the best animals we produced in 2015 and everything we were expecting from the pairing of her sire and dam. Not only is Honey Bee the daughter of our Futurity Champion herdsire Snowmass Conopa’s Kahuna, she is also the daughter of Snowmass Bit of Honey, who has produced multiple show winners including Honey Bee’s full brother TGF Manuka Honey, who will start his breeding career this coming fall. Honey Bee’s fleece has all the characteristics we are looking for: fineness, brightness, uniformity, a high frequency crimp style, and impressive density. This is a beautiful, well-balanced female as well. Honey Bee sells with a free breeding to any of our herdsires when she is ready.

Lot 13

Accoyo America Delilah Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 35142317 DOB: 6/4/2015 Color: White Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Accoyo America Ulysses Dam: Deli’s Delicacy

We are very pleased with this Accoyo America Ulysses daughter out of the star production dam Deli’s Delicacy. Delilah is a strong-framed, compact female with a beautiful true to type head. She has a heavy, exceptionally long-stapled 16 micron fleece with the elite micron uniformity we routinely see in Ulysses’ offspring and a uniform expression of character across her substantial blanket. Delilah’s phenotypic attributes — fineness of micron, but also heavy bone and staple length — are hard to achieve in combination and will make her a compelling addition to many breeding programs. We recommend Accoyo America Kashmir for her complimentary breeding.

Cagneys Miss Clarice’s Sasha Fierce Copper Star Alpaca Farm ARI: 32751390 DOB: 9/1/2012 Color: Medium Brown Gender: Female Status: Bred. Confirmed by Ultra-Sound Sire: Beethoven’s Dorian Dam: Miss Clarice Service Sire: Crystal K-O Cria Due Date: 4/26/2016 The next generation of champion producing offspring is beginning. 6 Championships, 9 Blues! Sasha gets better with each year. She has grown into a striking female, with the confidence and poise that makes her stand out in the show ring. At her first show, Spring 2013, Sasha took 1st and RC at the North American Alpaca Show, at 7 months of age. Given the outstanding competition at each show she attends, we are so excited and proud of her. This girl is one of our top show stoppers. She is the spitting image of her sire, with buttery soft fleece and dense as can be. Wonderful handle, bright, consistent zipper-like crimp style covering a flawless frame from topknot to toes. Sasha has one of the sweetest personalities that we have come across, easy going, calm and gentle. Very feminine looking, with a tall graceful walk. We adore this girl and have always enjoyed showing her. Sasha’s genetics are well sought after from both parents. Her sire, Beethoven’s Dorian, a multi-champion with excellent fleece characteristics and an impressive show record winning three Judges’ Choice awards among his many champsion titles. Sasha’s Dam, the legendary Miss Clarice, was the 2007 Dam of the Year. Miss Clarice’s offspring have always presented the complete package and Sasha is proof. They exhibit extraordinary fleece coverage and excellent conformation presenting a flawless phenotype. We expect Sasha to bring these traits from her pedigree to the next generation of champions to continue the line of proving her very impressive pedigree. 2014 Histogram: AFD: 22.2; SD: 3.6, CV: 16.4, %>30: 1.8 2013 Histogram: AFD: 18.1; SD: 3.3, CV: 18.1; %>30: 0.4 Awards: Color Champion, PAOBA Breeders Showcase 2014 Color Champion, MAPACA Jubilee 2014 Color Champion, Green Mountain Fall Spectacular 2013 Reserve Champion, North American Alpaca Show 2013 Reserve Champion Empire Alpaca Extravaganza 2013 Reserve Champion, MABA 2013 First Place, PAOBA 2015 First Place, Northeast Exposition 2015 First Place, AOA National Show 2014 First Place, PAOBA Breeders Showcase 2014 First Place, Northeast Expositon 2014

Turtle Dove has a true elite fleece — dense, long stapled, finely crimped, and clean separation into separate bundles. CCNF Leviathan Cas-Cad-Nac Farm LLC ARI: 35203445 DOB: 8/15/2015 Color: Light Brown Gender: Male Status: Unproven Sire: CCNF Elixir Dam: CCNF Capuchin We are so proud to have this prototypical future Herdsire representing our breeding program here at the Parade of Champions! The son of CCNF Elixir — who should really need little introduction at this point — and CCNF Capuchin, one of our top Snowmass Matrix Majesty daughters, Leviathan got the attention of the entire staff at CCNF from almost the moment he was born, and is inarguably one of the top crias from our 2015 birth class. Were we not firmly in possession of the genetics of both his paternal and maternal lines in fact, there is absolutely no way we would be willing to part with an alpaca of such advancement. Alpacas of this quality, especially with the multiple generations of deep, potent genetics on both sides of their pedigree, just don’t grow on vines. The greatest revelation at CCNF in 2015 was just how much the genetics of Elixir and Matrix Majesty like to play together. It was not by chance that several of the juvenile animals in our 2016 spring show strings, including this young fellow, were of that cross. Like his older maternal uncle, CCNF Legionnaire, before him, he will not come cheaply but we can say with the clearest of eyes that he will be worth every penny! We are thrilled to offer Leviathan here at the POC, one of the best alpacas we have ever produced, at one of the most important seed stock sales in the world! Financing is of course offered and Leviathan will be sold with a full reproductive guarantee.

This one’s just right . . . a modern rose grey female with a reserve championship under her belt at only 7 months of age, Alpaca Palace’s Mamma Bear XXX! But then, this is what we’ve come to expect from her Dam, a genetic powerhouse producer of a female, Seena’s Goldilocks. Her multi-champion sire, Snowmass XXXtreme Legacy XXX and Goldilocks created quite the gem! Judge’s comments for Mamma Bear include observations that we all want to hear as seed stock breeders. “She is extremely soft with great handle.” “She stands upright and tall and has such great presence.” “She is proportional with good coverage.” “Her fleece is fine, organized and dense.” If you are a grey breeder, you can’t go wrong with Mamma Bear! She will sell with a breeding to any Alpaca Palace solely-owned herdsire when she is ready, or the breeding can be transferred to any of your foundation females. Sired by Accoyo America Ulysses, this is a female we recommend to you for the propensity of both sire and dam lines to produce heavy cutting, fine fleeces that hold their elite characteristics into middle age. In fact, Ulysses’ fifth fleece won the Judges Choice award at the 2007 AOBA National show. Demeter’s fleece shows the fineness, uniformity, and elite organization across her frame that we seek in our production females. And we love her sporty phenotype and curb appeal. Don’t miss this one. These ladies are every bit as influential as the champion machos of our “Herdsire Row”. Xanadu P Mariel was marked as a foundation female when she was born, but we’re proud to bring her to POC. She’s our first cria from FIA Excello’s Rocky Bay, a 7 X Color Champion – 2 X Judges Choice son of Excello of PVA. Grandsires are The Elite Maximus on the top side of his pedigree and Poseidon’s Isaac on the bottom. So it’s no accident that Mariel’s fleece is a synthesis of exceptional fineness and uniformity and prepotent density. Mariel’s mom is our multiple Color Champion, Presidio daughter/Peruvian Bueno granddaughter, Xanadu P Trousseau. Trousseau’s blessed us with 9 crias, nearly all champions, with another Rocky cria coming this spring, of course. Saving possibly the best for last, we’re offering Mariel with a breeding to our incredible, 15 X Champion- Judge’s Choice winner, Xanadu P Aristide, who’s standing at Little Creek Farm. June Carter’s solid true black fleece is uniform, fine and dense with a high frequency crimp style making her a great blend of both her sire and dam. She is blessed with heavy bone, and unmistakable presence. Her sire, CCNF Man in Black, is the infamous son of Champion Fawn Herdsire, CCNF Royal Ring of Fire. What is not widely known however is that though Man In Black and his sire before him owe much of their genetic power to Snowmass Royal Rose now co-owned by West Penn Alpacas and Little Creek Farm. Man in Black is also the sire of the Multiple Champion WP Johnny Cash who sold for $31,000 in the 2015 Parade of Champions Auction to Snow Diamond Alpacas. We didn’t breed this beauty — but we know her pedigree inside and out. Her four grandparents Ulysses, Alpenrose, Polaris, and Pina Colada collectively stand at the forefront of our breeding program. Her sire Accoyo America Alpha had his best years in the show ring as a working-age male, winning banner after banner over younger competition based on the time-tested quality of his extremely dense, lingering fine fleece. Abigail herself carries a fleece that is recognizably Accoyo America in its style — dense, discretely organized, uniform and fine. She has a compact frame and a lovely head. While she will do well in the show ring, Abigail will ultimately demonstrate her value as a top production dam. We know those bloodlines, and they will deliver. I waited in anticipation for months for the birth of this elite male — a combination of El Nino daughter Bali and the renowned Nautilus son Road Warrior. The reason for my anticipation was that Bali carries a fleece with elite characteristics of crimp and character without sacrificing density. In 2014, she produced an 8.0 pound blanket — the heaviest we’ve ever sheared at Accoyo America West. Bucephalus is still young but has not disappointed us. He’s combining that same density with an exquisitely fine fleece and a moderately long staple. This upright future herdsire has it all — presence, frame and elite fleece — and should be the cornerstone of any good breeding program. EPDs Available: Sire.

CSAF Patty Wac’s Faberge Copper Star Alpaca Farm Champion genetics produced one of our best alpaca gems, an extraordinary female! Faberge’s all around correct conformation, strong bone and impressive pedigree make her a perfect addition for any grey breeding program. Her fleece is uniform, fine and consistent throughout with excellent staple length. Wherever you part her fiber you will see how bright, and dense she is. Her fleece has been described as buttery soft, with a brillant brightness and consistent crimp structure. Like her champion dam, Faberge has presence, she is also one of the sweetest females we have. An excellent example of her pedigree. Her sire, Aussie .38 Special is a one of a kind herdsire. His impressive fleece characteristics have been passed on time and time again to his offspring and Faberge carries it proudly. Fab’s grandsire on her dam’s side is Nic Nac, an impressive rose grey Champion male that consistently passed on his fine traits and grand presence. Her Dam, Nic Nac’s Patty Wac is a farm favorite, still beautiful and regal at 12 years of age. Faberge has a solid color foundation that will undoubtedly continue to produce excellence. We are so pleased to offer one of our very best rose grey females. If you are serious about your grey breeding program or just want to add exceptional genetics to your herd, Faberge is definately the one to consider. Faberge will sell with a transferable breeding to any Copper Star Alpaca herdsire.

Accoyo America Summer Breeze Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America ARI: 35156772 DOB: 10/20/2015 Color: Medium Fawn Gender: Female Status: Maiden Sire: Accoyo America Denali Dam: SPA Alpacas Augusta Accoyo America Summer Breeze’s dam, SPA Accoyo Augusta, has such remarkable and durable fleece fineness and uniformity — at 14, her fleece exhibited a 20 micron AFD and only 2.2%>30 — that pretty much all you can do to improve her offspring is to breed in incremental density and bone. And that’s what we did in pairing her with the sire that for years produced the heaviest fleece at Accoyo America, Accoyo America Denali, to produce Summer Breeze. Summer Breeze is a gorgeous medium fawn juvenile with the fineness and uniformity that Augusta has produced in every cria she has delivered for us, along with the incremental bone and weight of fleece that derives from Denali’s full Accoyo genetics. Her developing fleece has a lovely buttery hand and outstanding brightness. This young female will have significant value as a production dam. A Paca Fun’s SilverLegacy A Paca Fun Farm ARI: 32703856 DOB: 4/20/2014 Color: Medium Silver Gray Gender: Male Status: Unproven Sire: Silver Legend of KPR Dam: Disappearing Creek Rincon’s Kalani Every once in a while you find a “magic”sire x dam cross that consistently gives you outstanding results. Such is the case with the pairing that produced Silver Legacy. He is the 5th of 6 excellent cria out of this cross, 4 of whom we are retaining which is the only reason we are willing to let him go. His full siblings included 8X champion Silver Sensation (dam of A Paca Fun’s Ridiculous) 5 X Champion Aurora (another of our stellar production dams), and champion male I Am Legend who we have retained as a herdsire. Silver Legacy is a typey full patterned tuxedo silver gray that checks off every box in the breeder’s want list. He is upright and correct, with good coverage and bone. His fleece is uniform silver gray (no spots) with good fineness, and has 3-dimentional crimp and density. Combining the Rincon Cloud and Silver Legend lines, Silver Legacy comes from powerful genetics, but is conveniently unrelated to many of the other top gray lines in the country. This makes him a good pick for breeders looking to add their first gray male, or established programs looking to diversify their genetics. Silver Legacy has been a main member of our show string and has done well in shows, but we suspect the best is yet to come, as historically his line really blossoms starting at age 2. We look forward to seeing what this boy can do both continuing in the show ring and as he starts his breeding career. 2015 Histogram: AFD: 17.61, SD 4.3, CV 24.67, CF 99.67

This is an exceptionally well-organized fleece too, with consistent character carrying across his blanket and into his belly. We also appreciate Kamet’s compact, upright frame and attractive, true to type head style, all characteristics he shares with his sire. Kamet’s dam is the multi-champion white Snowmass Best Man daughter Ambrosi — exactly the kind of quality we want to see on the bottom of a future herdsire’s pedigree. The longer we watch this male develop, the more pleased we are. An Accoyo America Kashmir son and maternal brother to Accoyo America Kingfish, this male has top 1% EPDs for AFD and curvature (with accuracies already around 40% for key fleece characteristics, due to our extensive profiling of his relatives), and is the perfect genetic vehicle to bring prepotency for elite fineness and a superfine crimp style to a breeding program. We also appreciate the near complete lack of stronger primaries in this male’s fleece as he reaches breeding age. Khyber is an attractive male with an upright, eye-catching presence and a great head. He should be ready to begin his breeding career this season. EPDs Available: This Animal, Sire, Dam.

The daughter of 2015 Futurity Herdsire of the Year, Snowmass Conopa’s Kahuna, Adelia is also, we would argue just as importantly, the daughter of our Champion and JC female, CCNF Lilah, which also makes her the granddaughter of the mighty CCNF Magdalena and the greatgranddaughter of the high-matriarch, PPeruvian Jesusa. Yes, it matters. A lot. The last time we sold a Jesusa/Magdalena descendant at auction, CCNF Legionnaire, he went on to become the 2015 Futurity Champion for his new owners at Amber Autumn Alpacas and Red Granite Ranch. The fact is, we don’t let these kids go too often. We would recommend letting us take her back to Vermont after the sale and breeding this excellent female (her first breeding is included) to Futurity Champion and Judges’ Choice winner, CCNF Elixir. Uniformity of color is high on our list of desired attributes when we bred for fawn, and the medium fawn So Far Away exhibits it from head to toe. Her finely crimped, soft handling, long-stapled fleece also reflects the micron uniformity that is top priority of our breeding program. This stylish young female has a strong frame with excellent coverage. Both parents have outstanding EPDs with accuracies above .50 -one or the other is in the top 1% for all of the fineness and uniformity measures, and they are also near the top for fleece weight. It’s always nice to have an animal out of an amazing sire, but in Fiesta’s case her dam is just as nice. A Paca Fun’s Aurora (a 5 time champion) is one of our rockstar production dams and a key member of one of our best production lines. Fiesta’s fleece is extremely fine and uniform, with a well defined crimp structure and excellent brightness. Conformationally she looks very much like her dam. Only time will tell, but with her solid genetics, we suspect Fiesta to be a knock out producer herself. Fiesta comes with a breeding to any of A Paca Fun Farm’s unrestricted herdsires. If the buyer wants to shoot for gray, either A Paca Fun’s Super Sonic or A Paca Fun’s Ridiculous would be excellent choices. Her fleece is notable for its rich color and impressive staple length, and she carries that fleece on a frame of excellent substance and capacity. Rose of Sharon is of breeding age and you will have your choice of our 23 sires for that pairing. National Alpaca Fleece Collection Initiative Sponsored by The Alpaca Coalition of America

June 1 - August 15, 2016

To improve alpaca growers’ access to the commercial market for alpaca fleece and reduce the costs associated with selling their clip, the Alpaca Coalition of America is underwriting a national fleece collection initiative modeled after similar collections in the American wool industry. Growers will have the choice of an immediate cash payment for their ungraded fleece or receiving the market price for their graded fleece upon subsequent sale to commercial purchasers. With six collection points around the country and a collection window of June 1 to August 15, 2016, the Initiative will offer a convenient and cost-effective way to monetize the value of your fleece harvest. And your fleeces will contribute to our effort to build a stable, attractive commercial market for alpaca fiber in the U.S.
