Dear Cattle Families, s we sit down to put the catalog together for our sale, it is 90 degrees outside and muggy. This season has proven to be a difficult one for farm families. So much rain late and now with a late crop we are praying for a late Fall harvest. Needless to say the weather is cooperating. While we hate to have 90 on October ,1 we are thankful that the crops can mature. With that being said we have had a difficult time also in the life of our family. On Tyler’s Birthday, August 30th we lost our dear friend Lucas Regula to brain cancer. What a fantastic young man he was whom we got to know when he came to buy a steer from us during his 4-H career. He went on to work for us for a season, was a sale consultant and most importantly became an awesome friend to all of us. His legacy lives on through his wife Allison, his daughter Autumn and through his parents Rick and Deb and his siblings. This week we also received the news of another loss of a fantastic friend to cancer. Gary Apel had a true love for cattle. Several years ago he came to us and wanted to invest. He enjoyed buying the heifers and loved watching their progeny in the show ring and getting the heifers into the hands of some fantastic people. We were very blessed to have gotten to know and become friends with these two men and we are forever changed and better people because of them. On a different note we are very excited about this set of elite females. It has been an incredible show year with success on every level. One of our greatest accomplishments was having 22 head and kids and families at the Jr Nationals in Des Moines this past Summer. We also had a fantastic turn out for our first every family camp. It was a wonderful gathering and we will most definitely be repeating this event in April of 2020. We continue to try every year to highlight our very best cow families and this year is no different. Take a minute to browse through the pages of this catalog and be sure to give one of us a call to come and view the cattle live. Watch for videos about two weeks prior to the sale on Breeders World. We would love to have you as a part of our show family whether it is your first time out or a seasoned breeder and showman. Look in, there is something for everyone. And finally, take the time to enjoy your loved ones today and every day. Life is short and fragile. We look forward to seeing you on November 2nd at the Allen County Fairgrounds in Lima. Blessings to you and yours!

The Winegardners and Klingamans

Each year coming up with our lot 1 is always a challenge, especially this year when we feel this set is so deep. The Dual threat cattle have been making a name for themselves with only limited use and not to mention she is out of a 2nd calver that is owned with Trennepohl farms and will be one of our up and coming donors. This dual registered female is a rare beast. She is so big bodied and elegant with all the mass and power you could ever want. Whether its on the move or the stand this one has what it takes to win big banners and raise the right kind.

Of all of the siblings we have had of this mating this is the different one there has ever been. When we talk about making them wide, stout and huge bodied, 4A sums that up to a tee. She may not be as wild throat latched as a few of her sisters but I promise a lot of them could fit inside her. This one will win her fair share of shows but as a donor it will be scary what she can generate.

There is no doubt about it that bull will add power and volume to his offspring and he certainly did with these here. All of these heifer calves are a little different but all are extremely high quality and bring so much to the table as show heifers and even better cows. This is the only Primo daughter this year out of Ace. Although there were four brothers that Jerry and Todd Adamson bought back when they were on the cow. To me that says a lot of a mating when those two wanted to use those bulls as 4 month old baby calves. We feel like 512G is one that can play hard right out of the gate and continue success throughout her life while being an incredible cow in the near future. Her body shape, soundness and great look will make this one a serious contender next summer in Lima.

Woah, get a look at this one. We are all in on the Onset babies and can promise you there will be a lot more in the future. If you look nationwide and see the programs that are using and having lots of success with this bull there is no doubt these cattle are good. As an individual, this one has an extra gear. Her look and balance is second to none while having a huge rib cage and perfect feet and legs. Not to mention this female is out of David Smith’s big time broker daughter that was shown to great success throughout the country. If you’re looking to take a big swing at the majors this one should be right up your alley.

A lot of people say it’s better to be lucky than good, and I do believe that to a certain extent. Where we were lucky is the day we were able to purchase TR/TKM Y NOT from Talmo ranch at the National sale in louisville. Sure, she did a lot of winning for Hannah in her show career, but in our hearts we knew this complete outcross pedigree animal was just plain good. I’ts been amazing what Y NOT has generated in just a few short years. There are not many cows in this world that can raise a national level show steer or breeding heifer let alone a chiangus that can win at any level. Take note at lot 6, her mother is a direct daughter and national Champion. This is where it gets hard for me. Gary Apel was not only the best partner in the world but a great friend. He would always tell me that was the best purchase we ever made together when we bought Y NOT. Thank you Gary for everything. You will truly be missed by our family.

This has been several years in a row now that this mating has knocked it out of the park, and in my opinion if it’s not broke why fix it. Good cattle are good cattle. These three heifer calves are not just incredible chiangus but they have the ability to be supreme contenders which their sisters have been able to accomplish. Pick your poison on which one you like the best. We honestly love them all and are excited to see their future. On a different note. look at what you can do with them when you are done showing. I told you earlier we are all in on the Maternal Mades and yes we definitely did Y NOT that way. These two dual registered heifer calves are next level. To add power and mass with and incredible look and build is so hard to do. The May is ready to go, huge bodied and wide built and the April is a long term freak. No matter what your goals are, either one of these can fit the bill. We would love to breed on either in future to raise that kind that can go out and win and sell high.

Here she is, the full sister to Addie Shafers heifer that had a great year and was 3rd overall at the Ohio State Fair. As much as that one accomplished we feel this one’s ceiling as a show heifer could be even higher. The added body shape and crazy look from the side will always make this one a player. She is the kind that can run all winter and then be there in the summer when it matters. Not to mention her mother has generated countless high sellers and major show winners throughout her lifetime. The last ten years with the Heintz family have been amazing showing steers and I want to thank them for all they have done and for allowing us to be a part of this great cow.

No we are not in the Charolais business but Kurtis and I have a passion for good cattle and we truly appreciate the performance and real world standpoint of good white ones. We were very fortunate to pick this elite purebred up from Jake Moore in Indiana and man are we excited. The things this one brings to the table for her breed is very unique. She is perfect hipped, great looking and long smooth muscled while still being stout. We were able to have a composite female out of this ones mother who was a Denver champ herself last year. SIRE: Dual Threat / DAM: Dunk Lucy ( Fortune and Glory) DOB: 3-8-2019 / Registered Maintainer ⅜

This April angus female has had big time cow written all over her since birth. She is fun to look at from end to end being so wide made and high volumed. She too is one that will hit the ring well with her extra balance from the side and tremendous feet and legs. Think of the possibilities you can do with her in your herd.

This Onset daughter is one that will charge you up sale day. Here is a moderate framed, big bodied stout female that is huge boned and perfectly structured. Her mother was quite the show heifer herself and we think this one can follow in her footsteps. Not to mention, it’s so hard to make dual registered cattle that still have a chi % this high.

Big time donor prospect here. This is one wide built, massive female from end to end. Her structure is impeccable while still having that great look from the side. This double bred halfblood female is out of a first calf heifer. We are always pumped when 2 year olds can generate like this. The possibilities are endless with Emily as a potential donor.

Our good friend Kevin Smalley sent us this one’s mother a few years back and man we are glad he did. Not only is 410G’s mother the grandma to our lot 1 but this donor cow can do it all. This April heifer calf is so versatile, not just genetically but in her look as well. What a great look she has while being so true in her structure and natural body shape.

This solid black plus female is so cool in her kind. What a great look she has from any angle while still being good middled and super functional at the ground. This one has so much upside potential as a big show heifer but if she can do what her mother has done for us as a mature cow is where it will all matter.

SIRE: Here I AM / DAM: Hannahs Mona Lisa (Aviator x Dazzler) DOB: 3-24-2019 / Registered Shorthorn Plus

We really like this female and her basics. This is a brood cow in the making with a complete different pedigree. The Maggie line has been one of our staples for many years and we think 322G is ready to step right in and be the next one.

27 BMW Maggie 322G

SIRE: SAK Mckinley DAM: BMW Maggie (Monopoly x Who Da Man’s Full Sister) DOB: 3-22-2019 / Registered Low % Chi 6.05%

This cream colored female is true genetic gem. She is the full sister to David Smith’s past high seller and reserve Denver champion. This is a powerhouse brood cow prospect that will show all year with the best of them. Her added body shape and soundness will be sure to get her an extra look.

FULL SISTER TO LOT 28

SIRE: TR Firewater / DAM: BMW Ace ( Monopoly x Rockn Ace 36U) DOB: 3-6-2019 / Registered Composite Charolais

This Red Brindle female reads power all the way through. She is wide made, big bodied and still has a great look from the side. This is just the 2nd calf out of this cow and its 2 in a row. We know this one will be a lot of fun to show but as a cow can go so many different directions.
