JUNIOR INCENTIVE!

Check-out page 15 for more information on our Junior incentive program.

Hello Friends, As we turn into October we can see the pumpkins, fall mums, leaves turning beautiful shades and God’s splendor in the harvest sky as the sun sets each evening. The air has turned sharply colder in the last few days. This can only mean one thing. The 18th Annual Harvest of Excellence Sale is right around the corner. We are very excited about the quality of our females this year. We have stood behind our genetics by flushing our females to our own herd sires. The results are tremendous. We are featuring some of our elite donor cows whose progeny have already proven themselves in the showring. Our past customers have had much success and we feel very fortunate to have gotten our cattle into some of the very best families. In our operation God is first and family is second. We feel very strongly about these values. We welcome the opportunity to work with you and your families in the upcoming year. We are happy to offer our assistance and work with you as much or as little as you prefer. Nothing makes us happier than for you to have success in your own operation.

herdsman, Kurtis Klingaman. We are very blessed to have him as a part of our business and soon to be a part of our family. We would like to take this opportunity once again to cordially invite you to Lima, Ohio on November 1st at 1:00 PM, EST for our production sale. Calves can be viewed at our farm on Harding Highway (SR 309) just 6 miles east of the Allen County Fairgrounds until Wednesday before the sale. After that, feel free to stop by the fairgrounds. OUR 2014 SALE OFFERING

Rockn Candy

D A U G H T E R S

Year after year it’s always a debate on which heifer will be lot one. Well let’s just put it this way our Eye Candy donor made all of the lot one and two’s. I know it sounds like a lot out of one cow when you say there is nine in the sale, but let me promise you all nine are incredible cattle. We could talk for days how good this cow has been to us, and it all started right out of the gate raising a promotional sire as a first calf heifer. I’ll let these heifers do the talking for themselves.

Ms Rockn Candy 257W

1a

Where do I begin with this one. While I was at the Illinois Beef Expo Kurtis called me and said the lot 1 heifer was just born. I thought maybe he was putting the cart before the horse a little but when I got home I definitely agreed with him. This female has been that good since day one. It is so hard to make cattle look like this one does. Her added extension, bone, foot and balance make her so unique. Not to mention we are so excited about these Man on a Mission females. There are only two in the sale but I promise there will be many more next year after seeing this small sample size.

After our Candy donor had her first calf and it was a display bull named Blue Print, we decided to flush her back that way. I can definitely say that mating works. Not only has there been many full sibs that have been very good but a full sister to her is the mother of the lot 7 female as a first calf heifer. That truly is proof if you ask me. This young heifer calf may be one of the coolest looking ones in the sale, with that shot of white and all the mass, power and look from the side one could need.

As an operation we are striving to raise cattle that are made like this one is. She is so functional in her kind yet still has that awesome look. This may female has the ability to not only win the big shows but also could raise those high sellers. Not to mention no matter how you breed this one she will always make a high % chi and a maintainer.

There are definitely a lot of these full sibs but they are all a little different, and lot 2A may be the most. When you think about making a donor this female certainly comes to mind for me. She is so wide, massive and cowy it’s scary with a good look and sound on her feet and legs. The oldest sibling of the group has that added power to do damage no matter where you want to show her.

BMW Candy 409B Sire: Man Up ▪ Dam: Ms Rockn Candy 257w DOB: 04-09-2014 ▪ Registered Chi: 16.45% This brockle headed female reminds us the most of the Wisnefski heifer. This female has big time show heifer written all over her. She has that awesome look with a big rib cage and great set of feet and legs. Did I mention this one has the shag hanging on her.

2b BMW Candy 411B Sire: Man Up ▪ Dam: Ms Rockn Candy 257w DOB: 04-11-2014 ▪ Registered Chi: 16.45% Here is one good looking female. We love this heifers added length combined with this much center body and skeletal width. This heifer calf is fun to look at with the added white and I promise she will always stand out in the ring.

Give this one a little time and hold on come next summer. She is built like a breeding female with an awesome sweep to her belly and a functional look throughout.

We love to look at this heifer because it is difficult to make females that are this flawless structured with all of the dimension and body you could ever want in one. This female will be a major contender no matter what level in the future.

She is so unique in her massive rib cage yet still has that cool look and awesome structure. This Swag female resembles our lot 1 female from last year with a notch more bone and extension. The run that female had, makes me think the near future is very bright for Libby.

Normally there are several females out of our Ace donor. Well this year there is just the one, but she is truly special. This heifer takes all of the good of sire and dam and puts it into one package. This ace daughter is so balanced and correct with the body and volume it takes in today’s industry. This has been one of my favorites since I seen her in the Rockn J pasture in early June.

WINEGARDNER HARVEST OF EXCELLENCE SALE

This Distinction daughter is a little different twist for us. But when Kurtis and I ran onto this female this summer we knew we had to have her for this sale. Not only is this female perfect structured and good looking but she has that added to power to not only compete at any level but make that foundation donor we are all craving. We have talked all fall about the mating potential this female has. Whether the new owner decides to make purebreds or crosses, this female we believe can do it all.

We are super excited to have these four High Maine heifers that are out of Swags mother. This is the first time we have ever mated this cow to make High’s and unfortunately will be our last with her passing. We think these heifers have so much value considering they are clean pedigreed.

This lot 6A female is one we love for her versatility. She is so heavy structured and smooth built with a really good sweep to her rib cage. We not only love what this one offers as show heifer, but more importantly as a future donor.

This female is a little different than her full sister, a little stouter and a little more compact in her design but we don’t think that is all bad. She is so bold sprung and massive and the way her mother could make males or females this heifer could make the high dollar ones we all try to raise.

These two Hard Whiskey heifers are both really good females. The lot 6C is bold sprung big bellied and massive. We really like what this heifer has to offer as she combines width, structural soundness, and that killer show ring presence.

This female may be the coolest looking of all of her sisters. She is so cool necked, big legged and hairy. We feel this one has what it takes to make that killer bred heifer to go compete at a high level and then become that donor we all want roaming our pastures.

When we think about a dream scenario this heifer sums it up for us. When her mother calved as a first calf heifer and had this female we couldn’t have been happier. I absolutely love the way she is built starting at the ground. This heifer is so flexible and smooth built with an awesome center body. There is no doubt in our mind this one can play hard out of the gate and run with any as time goes on.

Not only is her outcross pedigree something to write home about, but her phenotype is incredible. This heifer calf is so maternal and bold sprung, with and impeccable set of feet and legs. This one is the kind that wins major shows and makes daughters that do the same.

WINEGARDNER HARVEST OF EXCELLENCE SALE

We have prided ourselves over the years of being able to produce and find some of the best chiangus females out there. This may heifer calf is no exception. To me it doesn’t matter what breed, color or age this female is, she is just that good. Functional and good looking easily sums this one up. In addition we also will nominate this female for the upcoming Chiangus classic, being held with the 2015 junior nationals.

The Augusta pride female has been our favorite and most successful shorthorn cow ever. This cow after a successful show career had our upcoming sire Man on a Mission as her first calf. It has continued from there by not only raising the reserve champion shorthorn bull at the 2013 NAILE (CF Upgrade) and the 5th overall steer at the Indiana State fair. As you can tell we are plenty proud of this female.

It’s hard for us to imagine a plus female being any better than this one. I know that is a big statement, but we are really fond of this heifer. This heifer calf is so complete from head to toe with all of the power and look you could ever want. With her mother’s track record and upside potential of this female it’s certainly a no brainer here.

This is the first full sister to CF Upgrade. As excited we were about that bull we are equally as amped up about this heifer calf. This female is well balanced, perfect structured and built for the long haul. Did I mention this female is TH free by pedigree and with this one’s hair coat you would never guess it. This April baby by summer time will be one to reckon with.

THE HEREFORD DIVISION Diamond (Moler)

Diamond 405B Sire: H Excel ▪ Dam: Diamond (Moler) DOB: 04-05-2014 ▪ Purebred Hereford

11

We are a little new to the Hereford world but we are pretty sure these two Excel daughters are big time. Lot 11 is out of Hannah’s show heifer Diamond that was very successful for her. This female is perfect on her feet and legs, big bodied stout, functional with a killer look. I think this female is going to be a contender at any level and could give the other breeds a run for their money.

Keepsake 402B Sire: H Excel ▪ Dam: MSU Keepsake (Moler) DOB: 04-02-2014 ▪ Purebred Hereford

12

This beautiful heifer calf has purple running through her veins. She is the daughter of the ever so hot Excel and Keepsake who was reserve champion at Kansas City and Denver. It’s difficult to combine this much power and mass with a cool front end no matter what breed and this heifer does it well. This could be a female that is a major contender at the National level.

Magic 427B Sire: Monopoly ▪ Dam: Rockn J 213 (Denver Magic) DOB: 04-27-2014 ▪ Registered Chi: 9%

13

As Jerry and I were riding through his pasture this summer, this was a female that we drove upon and loved. There is no doubt she is still one I am very proud of. Magic 427B is so right for the times; she is moderate, sound, functional and cool built. This female will be a lot of fun in the ring and as a cow.

This Blue female is so cool. We ran down to Mckevoys this summer and found this awesome dual registered beast. To say the least this heifer is a freak. This ones neck and head carriage is on another level when you consider she is so wide built and big middle from there back. This female in the plus ring makes things pretty interesting.

Maggie 409B Sire: Monopoly ▪ Dam: Maggie (Full sister to Who Da Man) DOB: 04-09-2014 ▪ Registered Chi: 12.1% There is no doubt this female is a little different colored, but we think it’s cool.
