Noida, Uttar Pradesh The design intent is to design a flagship store for the brand Khadi India in a way that the flagship store provides an opportiunity for the customers in an innovative an memorable way, so raising brand awareness on a truly personal level. To make a strong brand statement, add a new dimension of physicality to the brand defined by materials and aesthetics.

The process to arrive at the final project was through a series of design developments based upon research. In the fiinal design, two such highlighting exercises have been featured; the tree arches- the main highlighting feature of the space showing an age-old connection between trees and architecture, and the curvy display wall depicting the nature of the mud architecture. This method of research through designing was followed mostly everywhere in the space.

SPACE PLANNING space planing was the fundamental element of doing the interior design process for this project. the planning started with an in-depth analysis of how the space is o be used. the process started with defining the zones of the space and the activity that will happen in those zones. the space planning was carried out with taking the circulation pattern into consideration.the nxt step was designing the structure of the space and balance it within the space. as the total height of the shop is 16 feet, therefore to balance it out, a mezzanine floor was created.now that the area was divided in two level, taking into consideration the perception of space based on body size, i didnt overfill the space as i am already creating walls inside it. the idea of creating display on the walls then emerged through this.

Zoning and Circlation

This is the open space where I have designed a small cafeteria with a seating capacity of 25.

This is the exhibition space where installations, displays and decorations are involved.

This area covers the clothing collection of both genders done by the fashion designers.

The Entrance of the store is through an open cafeteria, which is accessible from many areas. The pantry is on the opposite adjacent side. Near the entrance there are luggage drop-off and pik-up rooms, consumer can freely then go through the store. Cement flooring is laid out throughout this space.

The flooring is in neutral and light colours as to compliment the dark colours of the sitting benches and the table.

The front facade of the store is entirely made out of glass so as the outsider get an idea of how the inside is designed and thus get him/her to visit the place.

The walls of the pantry and the pickup and drop points are finished with rough plaster walls. The walls in this finish will set a mood as the light rests on it throughout the day and evening.

Cement Tile pattern used in the entrance area and the rough matt look tile laid out in the sitting and the pantry.

The entrance area is where the highlighting feature of the storeis designed. The area is acting as a courtyard within the space . All the sections of the store get connected from here. The space is designed in such a way that one can have a view of it from any corner of the store, even from the outside due to theglass facade.

This area includes the exhibition space which can be made flexible as display system placed in the area can be used in multiple ways, cash register.

Moving forward, we get into the clothing section.

The arch structure is completed in three parts. The top that is th curved arches are made out of a framework of plywood with thefinish of white paint.

The arches are of two types; type 1 is 200mm thick and the type 2 is of 60mm. Both of them are placed alternatively around the column. Type 2 arches are placed in pairs as they emmiting light from the side in a curved path thus creating a light service in the entrance area.

The middle part which is acting as an connecting element between the upper and lower remaining part of the structure, is a wall mounted curved shelf which is casted all around the column in a circle.

The circular shelf is made out of concrete with no visible brackets. The idea of having floating shelves came from the mud architecture itself. The top of the shelf is placed with a glass

The lower part are just pieces of plywood done to complete the fulllook of the arches.

Display wall system without of the tradition clothing section of male and female without the site’s walls and columns.

The seating along the curved portion of the wall is made out of teak wood.

The entire space is laid out in natural Kota stone.

The Display wall is a brick walls with curves and is finished with Plaster of Paris to give the look and feel of the desired space and also to compliment with the curve on the top.

The curved portion is made out of a frame on which chicken wire mesh is put so that the Plaster of Paris stays on it.

The profile of the curve is made such a cove is developed inside which will throw an ambient light on the display of the wall .

The Shelves are made out of concrete with no visible brackets and along with the glass top. The hanging rod is made out o metal on which brass finish is done.
