6 The site is located on the 80ft road, connecting the main Kanakapura road. The site also has abundance of trees and also a waterbody.

10

The site is located close to the main road - 80ft road - and hence has good connection from the site. The secondary roads act as service road for canteen and hostel.

CONCEPT : VIS UA L CONNECTI V I T Y

7

Fashion is all about how one looks at things and perceives the beauty of it. It depends on how one visually expresses the beauty of something and hence the concept of ‘visual connectivity’ has been used to create mythical spaces in designing the campus of NIFT.

BENGALURU - URBAN DESIGN URBAN ANALYSIS How can a connection be created between the hidden heritage of Bengaluru

The heitage buildings can be connected through green corridors. This enhances the idenitity of the area

Bengaluru is one of the oldest cities in India. It is about 479 years old. It has a rich varied heritage and culture.

The history of the place is large on its cultural landscape. Opportunities exploited, imagination expressed/ withheld, memories recollected and forgotten, injustice and inequality negotiated from positions of power and powerlessness. The city is fraught with complex and not - always- pretty stories.

CONCEPT: The theme of the sculpture park is ‘Stages of Love’. According to the vedas there are 7 stages of love, out of which 5 are chosen. Every stage of love - falling in love, patience, respect, duties and marriage, has been represented using navarasas of Bharatanatyam. The park takes one through a journey of life, without creating any boredom in this journey. The main idea was to create an ‘element of surprise’ at every point.
