SHREYA TRIPATHI About me Growing up in a small town that had close streets and closer people made me immensely interested in the value of community and self-expression. Learning and Observing people express themselves, I thrive in an environment where I get to explore and experiment with expression in various ways. Interacting, Sketching, Photography, Reading, Clay Modelling, Wood carving, Graphic design, traveling, and Architecture are some ways in which I have explored my Universe. My superpowers are my drive and curiosity towards this World of ours and my willingness to be a part of the change for a better future for us.

INDRIYAAN: A School and Vocation Center for Visually and Hearing Inpaired Students Site coordinates- lat: 25.240223 N ,lon: 83.001203 Location: Ramna, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh,India Area: 10 Acres 100 years lease ending in a Blind school in The Spiritual capital of the country, Varanasi has presented the need for shifting Shri hanuman Poddar blind school to Ramna 5km away from the site. Everyone has the right to be able to navigate effortlessly through the built environment. It is our job as designers to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of everyone who uses our buildings. A design that considers all senses through which we gather information will undoubtedly be more holistic and complete than the one that only considers Sight.

SCHOOL FOR HEARING IMPAIRED With Hearing impairment arises the need to be more vigilant of the surrounding, these students would rely on Visul signals hence the need to increase Visibilty. Diffused light and more space is needed in classes for sign.

BANDUKSMITH STUDIO| Internship Elna Cottage, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India
Vaishnodevi Factory, Office Cum Residence, Deesa, Gujarat
A residence for a single mother in Dehradun. The mother is the principal of the blind school beside the school and the cottage was a dream she shared with her husband. Her husband passed away in the pandemic and so her daughter was our client who wanted to fulfill this dream project that her parents had.
The first project that I had the pleasure to work on office cum residence in the Vaishnodevi Factory Complex which is Deesa, Gujarat. In this residence we were presented with the challenge of maintaining privacy and connection to nature in a structure that was in a vegetable oil factory. we tackled with this challenge by the play of openning and creating multiple terraces with green that flows in the structure.

SEEMAPURI SLUM REDEVELOPMENT Urban Design Studio Semester 8 Location:Semapuri, New Delhi ,India Area:8.9 Acres Seemapuri or Seema Puri is one of the three sub divisions of North East Delhi District. It has Uttar Pradesh as border on one side and lies adjoining to Dilshad Garden in East Delhi. The gated residential areas are surrounded by slums and these slums are considered to be one of Delhi’s worst slums. The New Seemapuri slum saw the light of the day in the year 1971 and a large contingent of people poured in as refugees from Bengal and Bangladesh and gradually others also joined from states like U.P, Bihar, Rajasthan, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh etc. with majority of them indulged in ragpicking. Redeveloping is needed to provide sanitary housing, Reduce crime and make their life livable while giving space to their livelyhood.

Footpaths and greens have been used to seperate the ews development form the existing surrounding roads etc, therein creating a private space solely for the use of the residents of the development. This is how exlusive parking has been achieved for the residents to prevent problems of parking spots being used by non-rsidents.

Archiol Sensory Architecture Competition 2023 | Honourable mention
Sensory Architecture | Architecture as a filter and an amplifier for Indriyaan The world has always made me curious about praying. Praying is an act where we close our eyes and choose to experience a connection with the world with our other senses. It is a practice of spirituality and spirituality has always focused on the experience of existence. It is the connection and oneness that we crave and praying and meditation help us feel more at peace, and move in the moment because it is the heightening of the experience. Looking at the world with everything we got and taking in every bit of it. And being born in a country like India, I have always been very much aware of this because just like our food needs spices our senses also need the chaos and the different flavors and experiences the different spaces bring to us. The experiences and memories of this ocular-centric world greatly depend on how our senses perceive this environment, Sensory architecture is architecture in its truest form, our body perceives things whether the built environment intends it or not, and we can feel the existence of us or world around us through our senses. And these experiences of the environment are not limited to a town/city/country or time. These are like time capsules they transport you back in time just with a touch or scent. One such scented capsule reminds me of a day, It was strangely gray that day with coldness in the air and heavy clouds shadowing it, the breeze smelled familiar like an old friend. the more I was exposed to this wind the closer it wanted me to be, so that day rather than closing the windows on the incoming storm I opened them, and surprisingly with the beautiful smell of petrichor filled my room making my room feel a part of the world, the walls felt alive, I could feel its strength blocking the wind and my feeble windows dancing at the mere push of the wind. The Echoes of my maa’s Voice in the back asked me to close the windows to keep pieces of the sound of lightning out. Tracing that echoes back I realized that my mother is in the kitchen. The white noise of the rain escaped as I closed the windows and ran to the kitchen, curious about what was being prepared but informed by my nose before my eyes of my favorites. The water droplets sounded different in my aangan (Courtyard), stretching my hands to touch them and falling through the thin chicken jail I could feel their cold touch as they jumped into my hands. The water reminded me that its time for a new paper boat to sail....
