AVBRH New Hospital Building, Wardha, Nagpur

• Clients – Datta Meghe Institute Of Medical Science, Sawangi • My part of Work – elevation treatment and working drawing of floor plans and toilet details. Initial Two Options For Elevation Option 01: elevation treatment was done in contemporary style of architecture. Bringing verticality into horizontal structure, Thermal insulation treatment was major criteria & Partial double wall and play of level in exterior façade. Option 02: changing the material to terracotta cladding in same elevation for energy saving, low maintenance, no sealant and grout or dirt and to eliminate mold and mildew.

Option 02

Below : Option 03

Above : model development process

Above : final view of hospital Below : few details and working drawings

New concept inspired from Ar. Ricardo Legorreta was taken in consideration because of hospital being constructed on trust funds and has to be cost effective. Play of colors and minimalism was the main criteria as guided by my associate and further my job was to refer architects famous projects and work on elevation. With my seniors guidance and help this elevation given below got finalized.

WEEKEND HOUSE In Mahabaleshwar Our design program suggested to design a weekend home for an architect of your choice. Study his habits and his lifestyle and design a weekend home for him and his family following his design principles . Architect I chose was AR. SOURABH PHADKE. CONCEPT For designing a weekend house for Sourabh Phadke sir, I had to do deep study about earth construction and using his 5 main principles1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

SUSTAINABILITY, ECO FRIENDLY CONSTRUCTION, LOW COST, REUSE,RECYCLE AND REDUCE USE OF LOCALLY AVAILABLE MATERIAL

ZONING WORKSHOP

INTERACTION WITH AN ARCHITECTAfter interviewing the architect and his family, we discovered his need and requirement. Architect Sourabh Phadke is a person who doesn't believe in brick and concrete, his work revolves around nature $ earth. Instead of making bungalows and malls in city, he prefer working in rural areas and teaching people how to built there own houses with locally available material. His aim is to aware people about earth construction. After understanding his lifestyle and preferences, I concluded to make a space like weekend workshop for him in his weekend house .

PRIVATE COTTAGE ENTRANCE Zoning of workshop is in the end so that a student proceeding towards the workshop shop should have a look at every other feature of construction and be eager to learn that in workshop.

AND MY DESIGN COMPRISES OF TWO SUCH TECHNIQUES-

Use Of Waste In Construction EARTHBAG CONSTRUCTION and EARTHSHIP BIOTECTURE

URBAN DESIGN - Redevelopment Of Civic Core Of Pune

Aim was to understand the growing needs of expansion of the ‘office district’ and its colonial influence on its building. After documentation and getting familiar with its daily needs and problem, redesign / restructure the spaces and activities with urban context around, including the transit movement.

ABOVE : Building Character Analysis CONCEPT FOR REDESIGNING - Identifying the heritage core and rearranging zones around it, according to the requirements and needs of surrounding.

ABOVE : Base Model LEFT : Base map and land use plan

Idea was to bring the entire civic core into a campus and rearranging the land use with minimal changes in land use and road network and no demolition of heritage bldgs. While studying the area with respect to land use and green spaces, one green space in the campus was identified which can create an avenue and focus to the center of the campus and was increasing its aesthetical value.

Idea was to bring the entire civic core into a campus and rearranging the land use with minimal changes in land use and road network and no demolition of heritage bldgs.
