LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE’S LAB

An Educational Farm of Landscape Architecture fall 2014 In this project, I designed a farm for students major in landscape architecture. First, I listed all the courses and events of LA, since I wanted all those can be happened on this site. After organized the ralationship between areas and circulations, I started to design the form and the function of each space. This place is a kind of lab for LA students of NTU, which can be very helpful for their learning.

MASTER PLAN ISSUE & STRATEGY *High aged proportion of residents around it, but lack of open space

Zhongqiang Park is a community park located at the foot of Xiangshan mountain. The characteristics of this park is: 1. There are a lot of Taipei treefrogs (Rhacophorus) which are protected animals in Taiwan. 2. It is one of the sites for 2nd generation park since an coming event called World Design Capital Taipei in 2016. 3. Best view to see Taipei’s landmark— Taipei 101 As mentioned above, in this project, I have to consider both the site’s specialty and the gavornment’s design guideline for 2nd generation parks.

GREEN MOVEMENT Landscape Improvement of The Youth Park summer 2015

There are three points of this project : 1. Youth Park the only sport urban park in Taipei city. My main target here is to figure out how can we make a balance between active activities and friendly environment. Then I came up with the idea of green energy by human’s activies. 2. It is the biggest urban park of Taipei, but the users there are getting less. So I proposed to appeal people’s attraction by design. 3. Since the green infrastructures and green energy i proposed, with the addition of the existed historic relic here. It seems like a good situation to be an environmental education place. I reorganized the zones of this park to match the rules of environmental education center of Taiwan, and also add some activities and pattern to emphasize my concept.

CITY’S CULTURE DISH

United Landing Modules Project Old Site of Air Force Headquarters Design Workshop fall 2014 Since air force headquarters had moved to the other place, there is a huge vacant lot in the core of Taipei city. Then we started to think what can we do in this site. We thought all the new projects in Taipei are hard to move on since citizens always confused about if they work. Also, successed projects of another countries don’t mean that it will fit in Taiwan. To deal with that, we let this place as a lab that it can be tried any new project here, and then get the data of this project. If it works, we can expand this kind of policy to the other place. and then it will be emptied waiting for the next experimental projects.

FACILITIES SKETCHES

GREENING CARE GARDEN Rehabilitation Garden of Rare Disease Children summer 2015 A garden is for rare disease children. There are four zones of this garden 1. Entrance Garden To introduce rare disease to public. Including playground, coffee shop and flexiable showcases which can show the works of those children. 2. Horticutural Operation Both physical and mental treatment while farming. 3. Senses Garden Multiple scales of space for different use way. (such as group activities or personal counsel) Besides, it’s a kind of horticulture therapy. 4. Farms Planting economic crops with organic way which can be provided to children and also can be made as groceries in their own brand.

Raised Planter with Vertical Trellis There are some holes of the planters that let wheelchair users farm easily. Flexiable Height Planter Box The planter can add boxex on its frame which can adjust its height. Also, there are wheels beneath its pillars. Universal Culture Shade

TAKING OFF! SAN SHI Vil. Community Development Project of San Shi spring 2015 (on proposed) San Shi Village is a community in Taoyusan. It has beauty scene, historic buildings and also is the best point to see planes taking off which always attract many people. However, it is facing on some problems: ageing populations and region of urban renewal. So, we thought of tourism to perk up the local economy. We started to work on it with residents there, held some events and workshops. Also, we took some bureau of culture’s projects to apply some resource for this beautiful village. Community development can’t be fast, it seems like we move on slowly, but we have already done a lot.

PROPOSED PARKS 1. Create some activities in existing vacant lots. 2. The proposed parks are just like a series of boarding plane. 3. The proposed bike path connect them will also have painting wall (planes). 4. All the materials and vegetations are easy to get there. Also, the design can to be constructed theirselves.

LIGHT CLIMBER

Bike Repired Store and its Surroundings Landscape Improved Competition of NTU Champion / spring 2013

CONCEPT

The competition is a landscape improved program of National Taiwan University, which is redesign a shed and its sorroundings. I used the transparent material in organic shape and let the vine climb on the wooden backbone to let it have vitality. Climbing light, for each NTU students, to climb up and reach their own light.

LIGHT CLIMBER

The site is a shed of a bike repired store and bike parking roof. It becomes a negetive landscape on campus since its age.

After improving, the bicycle repaired store looks better, standing surronding trees harmoniously.
