The
project is a study of the possibility of surface. By tracing the material flow in daily life, a textured surface is created. Apply forces on the surface; the embodied forces interacted with the forces form outside, change the shape of the surface. Recorded this process, the surface obtain sufficient complexity to create Stirring space experiences and the potential to provide multifunction spaces as architecture.
When
I aggregate the surface, I decide to utilize the centrality and the complexity of my surfaces. I place the surface on the spot beside Whitney museum, which I believe bring the site condense culture and art atmosphere. The spot is also near the end of high line, a point with desire to extend to far away. It’s also a good opening for the sea breeze blow into the busy street. The surfaces have this trend to spread to the river bank and the down town. It twisted, point to the sky, create a force to attract people look along it and up to the sky. The surfaces emphasized the location as the conjunction point of urban desire.
The
surface will act as a sensation museum, Like a filter, when people passing through the complicate unpredictable inner space, they must fully use their sensation to locate themselves, during this process, they will graduate adapt to the space, and realize the beauty of experiencing their own sensation. Contemporary people accept too many information and education, they trend to indulge to absorb maximize information from the object they observe, and forget the importance of the observer.

OUTER FORCES
S U R FA C E D Y N A M I C Along the longer lines which perpendicular to force continuous tubular space are emerged. Beside the short lines which parallel with the forces, there are more and moresmall openings. Tubular spaces are wrapping together while keeping their individuality. Small openings obscure the boundary of different spaces.

curve is closed; the adjacent two curves have at least two intersections and create a loop, the abundant of circular intersections makes the whole picture has neither definite direction nor center. Most of the lines are closed curves, because of the uniform speed of ice melting process, the distribution of lines trend to be evenly. When these closed curved formed surface, the forces circulate in it, looking for weak parts to escape. These futures give the surface potential to generate smoothie whirly space. Intersections points of the lines are also the junction of forces, which is crucial to the transformation of the surface. When the path of the forces is hindered, the surface would be torn to release the forces.
When three surfaces play together, the tabular spaces are extent in parallel first and wrapping together while keeping their individuality .Small openings obscure the boundary of different spaces. The bigger polygons of the surface create larger space with more stable state, rotates around these larger space, the space with more segment edges variant severely. The ice is hard, I choose not apply the soft material to shape the surface. Continue the feature of the clear and gentle edge of the melting ice, the surface have subtle twist and clear shape. In the end, the surfaces maintain a tough quality. Forces pass through the surface following the lines, makes the polygon elements push each other. When the forces smoothly move in its direction, twisting continually spaces are created, when it meet other force or cannot find a way out, the surface change dramatically, unpredictable stagger openings are created to let the forces out.

From geological aspect, the constructors near river bank acting as a boundary to resist sea breeze into the city. But there is no absolute boundaries of natural flow, wind always find their way in. In pedestrian level, the end of high line is one of the major entrances of air flow. Whitney museum Whitney museum focus exclusively on the art and artists of this country. With the spreading of consumption culture, these underappreciated artists and art works have accepted by mainstream of aesthetic values. No matter how the art works are judged, they have profound influence to the world. Art is beyond the boundary of time and space.

From the Historical view, the three major institutions of the site: Whitney museum, high line, Hudson River park were set up for different missions, the have faced crisis, now, they are famous well-run institutions and have sufficient public attention. They all endeavor to protect social good and develop publication from different aspects. They have different missions, but the way they running is more and more homogenization.
PROJECT INTRODUCTION Site line and surface The site lines show a strong point is desired in the end of high line as the center of the field’s force. The twisting surface contains sufficient energy, and it can supply unprecedented space to help people activating their sensation to really accept the information of the site. Institution The surface will act as a sensation museum, like a filter, when people passing through the complicate unpredictable inner space, they must fully use their sensation to locate themselves, during this process, they will graduate adapt to the space, and realize the beauty of experiencing their own sensation. Contemporary people accept too many information and education, they trend to indulge to absorb maximize information from the object they observe, and forget the importance of the observer. Our site has high dense of information, people come here more or less follow the preset way to read the landscape. The sensation museum is an institution of anti-art, instead of art works, observers pay attention to their selves.
PLAN AND SECTIONS
S PA C E A N D S E N S A T I O N HEARING AND SMELLING The voices passing trough the tunnels could be expend, close to the opening, people can listen the sound from sky, all other sounds made by other people in the sensation museum. According to the principle of chimney effect, the tubular spaces are also used to transport odour. The vegetation or other relevant stuffs would be arranged around the ends of the tunnels. When people accidentally feel familiar odour, like the smell of rain, the smell of grass, certain memories deep in their brain would be awake.
