BLENDING WITH NATURE The Tiny House

ABOUT THE PROJECT The tiny-house movement is a social and architectural trend that advocates for shrinking living spaces, simplifying, and ultimately "living with less." While the small house signifies a simpler way of life, it is also seen as a potential eco-friendly alternative to the existing housing industry. A tiny house is around 400 square feet in size.

Concept The phrase "blending with nature" provides a sense of what it is. The goal behind this concept is to incorporate artificial structures into organic forms and make them function without disrupting nature. This construction is buried beneath the land, with the top of the structure replaced with natural material, as if there is nothing in there but the natural form. A couple can dwell in the inside. In just 400sqft (20ft x 20ft), a tiny cooking space, living area with a television suspended from the roof and sitting area, bathroom with wet and dry areas, where the wardrobe is located in the dry space, and a queen sized bed for the couple are given.

RECYCLED SHEETS BOOK STORE

ABOUT THE PROJECT A book store is preferably a location where a person can purchase a book. A book store has a large number of books that can be purchased, issued, or read by anyone who comes to the store. A book store sells newspapers, magazines, novels, biographies, games, recordings, and a variety of other items.

Concept When I was planning a book store, the first thing that came to mind was why not utilise materials that define the area. Reusing the destroyed newspapers and cardboards in the book store demonstrates that they have their own material. In the second version of the concept, I attempted to create an environment that resembled a book world. Huge windows have been added to the front elevation so that the books lining the walls may be seen from the outside. Every interior material is created by reusing discarded papers and cardboards.

Structurally, In this world of books, you can observe a traditional slope roof, a circular entrance with book cladding on the side walls, mezzanine flooring, an MS pipe frame wrapped in cardboard for railings, a stairway with seating space, and service entry and exit. On the stairwell, cardboards for various convertible seating are used. A cardboard billing counter has also been constructed. The book shelves are constructed of cardboard. It is mounted on the wall and is accessed by a double mezzanine. There are a few silent spaces left, so that the readers are not disturbed by the actions of others. The store's overall floor size is 2500sqft, with ambient lighting that aids in pleasant reading.

THE HEXAGON STATION CO-WORKING SPACE

ABOUT THE PROJECT A coworking space is essentially a type of workplace in which we share the same work environment, forming a community in the same location. Nowadays, an increasing number of people are shifting from working in a corporate office to a coworking space.

Concept The Hexagon Station is a co-working environment with diverse areas and furniture characterised by the hexagon form. Understanding how an individual or a group can use the space comfortably is how hexagon is used. While individually or in group, seating will be arranged in a straight line or in a circle, but in a hexagon with six sides, which is not a complete round nor a straight line for seating, but a combination of both.

THE UPCYCLED HOME TEMPORARY SHELTER

ABOUT THE PROJECT This is the final thesis which focuses on the shelter for the homeless people around our country. The idea was to build something out of the waste structure by upcycling them into something which serves some kind of social purpose. So, after all the researches, scraped train coaches are converted into temporary shelter homes.

Concept The phrase 'Swastika' was chosen as the name for this homeless refuge. Swastika signifies hope, and I created this space for people who are in desperate need of hope. This location exists not only to offer homeless individuals with shelter and food, but also to inspire them to have a better life. This facility separates homeless individuals from the harsh atmosphere of society, allowing them to acquire confidence and motivation to begin working in order to live and settle.

This site is located in Jaynagar, Bihar and has a total size of 30000 square feet. The coaches are utilised to house 80 people, along with washrooms, a kitchen, and a dispensary. As the location is intended for the homeless to remain temporarily and to encourage them to begin working for their betterment, I have included a few everyday activities in which the homeless may learn about their strengths and begin building a positive mindset. The majority of the materials utilised are train scraps that have been repurposed or upcycled to create this shelter.
