CO-CURRICULAR WORK
Chandigarh College of architecture was established in 1961. The Institute provides a five year long course which is recognized by the Council of Architecture. The course is divided into ten semesters and provides detailed knowledge as well as practical knowledge of architecture to students. Special lectures, seminars and workshops are also organised to enhance the knowledge of students and make them aware of the real scenario

The site is located on the outskirts of hoshiarpur (punjab) approx. 2km from the city. TOTAL AREA COVERED AREA

A setback of 13’-00” is given in the front and 9’-00” at the back.
The south sun has been treated by providing pergolas at the south façade, reducing the heat gain of the house, and also creating an intelligent play of light and shadow.
The residence has been made to the fulfillment of the client’s requirements.

The north side has been intelligently used as a terrace, which allows plentiful of sunlight to enter the house.
Skylight
Skylight has been designed in such a way to allow only the winter sun to enter the double height area and provide plenty light inside the whole residence. Also it cuts the summer sun so the harsh sun can be avoided .

06 The kitchen has been located at the entrance, giving the lady of the house convenient view of the in and outs of the house because she will be spending most of her time there.
The interior spaces have been treated in accordance to the client’s requirements. For example, the lobby has been given a double height to inculcate a feeling of grandeur. Other than orientation, the planning of spaces has been strategically done so that the piping and other services happen from the outside of the house.
community center SITE: The site is located at the entrance of village Jayanti majri approx. 15 km from Chandigarh in Ropar district of Punjab, on a hillock in the Shivalik ranges. Jayanti Majri is just a 10-minute drive from Chandigarh but it’s an altogether different world. Silence prevails here. The only sounds that reach the ears are the rustling of leaves, the humming bees, fluttering wings of a butterfly and occasional clinking of a temple bell.

View from porch There is a long display gallery for the village’s vernacular art and craft to flourish. This will encourage the influx and also give a platform to the local skills of the community.

The structure has been built in exposed brick and concrete so that it becomes a part of the village’s existing atmosphere. This community centre has been designed around a significant tree of the village. The design was intended to be more than just a marriage hall; a space that will be used to everyday and become a real centre of interaction for the community.

All in all it gives a twist to the otherwise simple and monotonous community centre by giving it a purpose into binding and building the community.
hudco E.W.S MODULE The design showcases complex interaction and communal spaces. A provision of an incremental space as well as a community building space has been provided to incorporate the spill overs which are a great character of the slums The E.W.S Unit goes up to G+4 floors.

The lobby has been treated with glass facade to bring in light and it provides a view of the open community space . Common ducts have been given for washrooms to minimize cost. Middle income group households lead a life of self reliance and their activities occur mostly within the house.

The spaces inside the modules have been staggered in such a way that they are well ventilated and utilize maximum natural light. Hierarchy of semi-public, semi-private and private spaces has been followed. They desire better amenities and a correct balance of living and bedroom spaces to carry out their daily activities

LOGO DESIGN FOR JAI PACKERS: Jai Packers is a company which manufactures corrugated boxes and packes boxes futher as per requirement of its clients. The design is kept simple and yet attractive. The triangle depicts the growth of the company.
DESIGN: Cantonment Board of ambala provides services such as medical and public health, education, roads, sanitation, water supply, street lighting, and waste water managemnt. So the logo is designed in such a way to incorporate all the functions and represent it as a muncipal body logo .

Open hand monument is a symbolic structure built by Le Corbusier in chandigarh. It symbolises the hand to give and the hand to take; peace and prosperity, and unity of mankind. The shivalik ranges have been depicted in this logo which are an important part of chandigarh. Also the logo has been kept circular due to the round abouts in chandigarh.
