Physical Therapists Are Needed

Physical therapists provide treatment for conditions from sports injuries to neurological disorders. Work as a physical therapist is demanding, fulfilling and well-compensated.

Required Course Prerequisites*

• Biology I & II with laboratories

• Chemistry I & II with laboratories

• Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II with laboratories

*To apply, a student must have 25 prerequisite credits completed, with a plan to finish the remainder

Becoming a Licensed Physical Therapist

Graduation from a physical therapist education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) is necessary for eligibility to sit for the licensure examination, which is required in all states.

Accreditation Status

• Faculty who are licensed physical therapists & clinical researchers with advanced degrees in the sciences, education & rehabilitation

• Peer mentoring, professional development & service learning embedded into courses

Program Timeline & Format

The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program takes 33 months to complete. Each new cohort begins with a fall semester and continues through 8 terms. Some terms are dedicated to clinical experiences, but most terms combine clinical and classroom learning.
