PERSONAL STATEMENT
For more than a hundred times in my dream, I picture a time traveling back to the suburb areas of China, where I would rather turn myself into a small drop of ink on the scroll of mountains and creeks, living in an environment, enjoying the fascinating surroundings which is exactly constructed conforming to the nature and harmoniously blended into the landscape. As I always believe, everything on the planet has its own uniqueness, only when we act based on its characteristic can we perfectly display and arrange it. Waking up from sweet dreams, I secretly determined that I would be destined to be an extraordinary artist in Environmental Design. Hence, Environmental Design was selected as my major without any hesitation before I entered the university and undoubtedly was expected to accompany me along my academic study for master degree. My study and practicum performance paid me off and I currently got satisfactory rank in my university. The undergraduate study has provided me the aesthetic and reasonable thinking mode assisting me to understand how to properly handle the relationship between nature and architecture. Meanwhile, my professional experience tremendously broaden my horizon and sharpen my skills. Here is some of my recent work which was undertaken during my landscape architecture course at university.
CONTENTS 01 AGRICULTURAL WETLAND LANDSCAPE LOCATION: Changde City, Hunan Province, China. JUNE. - AUG. 2018
The site of the project is located in the Yangtze River Basin. Some parts of China are affected by monsoons and divided into rainy and dry seasons. In the rainy season, rivers often flood farmlandsDuring the rainy season, the farmlands next to the river basin is inundated due to flood discharge from the upstream reservoir. By reusing topography, plants and functions, the revetments of the basin is re-designed and a wetland ecosystem dominated by agricultural crops is formed to achieve flood control, water purification and restoration of the basin ecological environment.

Nowadays, there are an increasing number of high-rise buildings and insecure factors in the outdoor environment which lead to the lack of space for children to have outdoor activities and even cause their physical and mental problems. Based on the existing environment, the project creates a safe and fun outdoor activity space for children. The space is an overhead passage that connects the noisy neighborhoods and schools, providing children with venues for activities and ensuring the safety of school at the same time.
03 A NATURAL PARADISE IN THE CITY LOCATION: Beijing, China. PROJECT AREA: about 8 hectares. SEPT. 2017- JAN. 2018
Nowadays, people who are struggling to survive in cities need to find some ways to release pressure and pursue happiness. It is often a good choice to get close to nature. The project site is located in a Beijing fruit farm that lacks management. The vegetation coverage rate is as high as 85%. The existing forest lands, ponds, fruit trees and various cultured animals are all with vibrant scenes. By re-planning the terrains, functions and activities on the existing natural resources, the entire site is systematically designed to form three organic system models, which optimize a wholesome ecosystem on the site and meanwhile become a place where city people can experience nature, relax and have fun.

SITE Regional climate characteristics: subtropical monsoon climate. The four seasons are distinct with the biggest hidden danger—flooding. The flood happens about once every two years; the big flood happens about once every four years. Site characteristics: · The site is located in the northeast of the city and is sited at the entrance and exit of the city-suburb highway. The traffic is convenient. · The site is adjacent to the Liuye Lake Tourist Resort and Sun Mountain Nature Reserve, rich in natural flora and fauna · The geology around the site is low hills. The mountain water in the Nature Reserve in the northwest part of the site merges into the Hongqi Reservoir at the upper reaches of the site, runs through the river channel, and finally flows into the ‘first city lake in China’—Liuye Lake.

SAFE AND FUN CHILDREN'S PASSAGE
LOCATION: Changde City, Hunan Province, China. PROJECT AREA: about 1.2 hectares.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: Nowadays, there are an increasing number of high-rise buildings and insecure factors in the outdoor environment which lead to the lack of space for children to have outdoor activities and even cause their physical and mental problems. Based on the existing environment, the project creates a safe and fun outdoor activity space for children. The space is an overhead passage that connects the noisy neighborhoods and schools, providing children with venues for activities and ensuring the safety of school at the same time. DISCOVER THE PROBLEMS IN SOCIETY: · China's urbanization is accelerating. More and more children in cities have left natural playgrounds; instead, they now are living in a closed, narrow living space surrounded by reinforced concrete. · The way of living in unitary buildings in cities and the temptation of electronic products both reduce the opportunities for children to have face-to-face communications. · The children’s daily life is idled and monotonous. They mainly remain at home or in school.
RESEARCH ON THE DESIGN METHODS PRESENT: stay at home Nowadays, children's activities are mainly based on electronic products; mostly they play alone.
WISH: go outside Create outdoor activities to attract children to go out of the door, approach nature, and make new friends.
Children's troubles: Where to play? Whom to play with?
Parents' concerns: Heavy traffic! Bad guys!
PRESENT: dangerous space Most of the outdoor venues today are open and vehicles are moving through the crowd.
CHILDREN'S PHYSICAL PROBLEMS:
vision loss
frail and sick
obesity
CHILDREN'S MENTAL PROBLEMS: WISH: safe space Define the scope of activity space, improve the safety of sites, set up event facilities, and increase the site activities anxiety, nervousness
lack of sociability
loneliness, depression

FISH-AND-VEGETATION SYMBIOSIS SYSTEM Fish-and-vegetation symbiosis system between soilless greenhouses and lakes. Here fish, plants and microorganisms form an ecosystem. This system uses the powerful decomposition ability of microorganisms as a medium to maintain the material circulation and eco-balance between organisms.
GARBAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM As time goes by, the degradable waste is degraded, the terrain subside, and the biodiversity is more abundant.
