DIMENSIONALCONNECTION Connections are the vital success of AALFA. These intrinsic factors of the site become the element that will define and determine location of space and its relation to other element. The connection of each diagram will work to produce the location of AALFA. Here, suited on the border between city and high density suburbs will become a new space for visitor to connect to our city. The purpose of AALFA is to be a space that exhibits sustainable qualities of architecture and also provides a new focal destination for people to connect and intertwine. The Visitors travel through a series of mutually associated space is the most Important element of my design. Through experience, circulation and connections, visitor will leave AALFA with a new knowledge of the current Australia’s architecture. The space will also encourage and challenge the participation of visitor. AALFA provides space, which allows visitor participation, exchange of ideas and an area for discussion. AALFA will create a centre for innovation and showcase design development in Sydney. Visitors will have access to the architecture studio spaces, the library with the new collection of Architecture books and the large exhibition room. In essence, theAALFA project represents equality and equlibrium of design concept. It provides design enthusiast and professionals with enganging environment to interact, generate ideas while preserving the historical nature of surronding areas and architecture. Purpose + Exterior + Interior + View + Surrondings + Social = Design Equilibrium.

Create an overhanging design to ensure limited direct sunlight.

Reversal of top to bottom.

Shift on the 2nd level provides roof top view of Wooloomooloo bay.

Change the orientation of the 2nd level according to sun path.

Change the angle of building to provide a new point of view to Wooloomooloo bay and city.

SITE STRATEGY

Facing Outdoor

Allowing good connection between indoor and outdoor area.

Visual Connection

Provide visual connection to the surrounding area and visual connection to each programs.

Flow

Allowing direct circulation and connecting to the second floor.

Reduce solar energy

Overhanging design will ensure limited direct sunlight on west area (using concrete wall to block the sunlight).

LOBBY / ATRIUM This area is located near the entrance. Visitors can ask the reception for information and borrow architecture


THE RAMP It is attached to interior face also creates a sense of curiosity, which is designed for further exploration to level three. While going up the ramp visitors can also stop and view the scenic city and parks.

ROOFTOP GARDEN This area allows visitors to view the Woolloomooloo Bay and the eastern suburbs. In addition, the space allows visitors to relax and connect with nature.
