The Elephant Rehabilitation Center (ERC) in Kottoor stands as a pioneering architectural feat, dedicated exclusively to preserving elephant habitats and holistic well-being. Comprising 49 thoughtfully designed structures, including two I had the privilege to create, ERC is an extraordinary endeavor. It offers refuge to injured elephants while enabling visitors to immerse themselves in nature’s beauty. This sanctuary is staffed with dedicated caregivers who find respite in purpose-built accommodations. ERC’s core mission revolves around advanced medical care and healing for elephants, incorporating elements mirroring their natural habitats. It’s not just a sanctuary but an educational haven, blending harmoniously with the surroundings and fostering appreciation for conservation. Through meticulous collaboration, ERC’s symbiotic environment nurtures both elephants and caregivers, ensuring sustainability.
