Experiment set-up for ultrasound diffraction at different multiple slit systems, optional diffraction objects and an active double slit.
Introduction The ultra-modern design of this ultrasound apparatus offers the following advantages: Extremely quick set-up and minimum preparation time Excellent reproducibility of the measurement results at the push of a button Didactic design due to the central position of the diffraction object on the goniometer and the movement of the detector through the diffracted field Transmission power adaptable to the experiment Precise measurement with an angular resolution of 0.1° The ultrasound experiment set comprises a quartz-stabilised ultrasound operating unit, an ultrasound transmitter and an ultrasound receiver, a stepper-
motor-controlled goniometer with reflector, a goniometer operating unit, an object holder, 3 diffraction plates, a diffraction grid, a hole diaphragm, a circular diffraction object and a Fresnel-zone-plate. The ultrasound operating unit with its LED allows the intensity to be adapted to the experiment. If two transmitters are used (active double slit), a phase shift of 180° can be realised. The goniometer unit displays all the important angle data on a LED display. The start position of the goniometer can be selected at the push of a button. Apart from classical experiments, this system can also be used for computerassisted measurement data recording directly via a RS 232 interface.
