The bed is positioned on a canted wall to orient patient with the outdoors to further the connection to nature and daylight.

The patient is in complete control of his/her comfort by having access to bed, light, and air controls from the patient bed.

The patient area is accessible for disabled patients.

Technology is integrated into the patient bed to aid the nurses’ rounds.

The patient bed is equipped with technology which alerts the nurse when a high risk patient leaves his/ her bed without notice.

HOSPITaLITY

The inspiration for the design of the space derives from the crescent-shaped volcanic crater that is home to the most abundant, famous coral reef off the south coast of the islands of Hawaii. Strong curves and fluidity reminiscent of the volcanic crater and coral reef are found in the overall space plan and design.

Black coral is recognized for flourishing in low light levels. The rooftop bar and grill reflects a similar sense of activity seen in the nightlife at Vive.
