COFFEE CULTURAL LANDSCAPE
Declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity Site by UNESCO, the Coffee Cultural Landscape is comprised of Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda and Norte del Valle departments and it represents the country’s coffee tradition. It is encircled by a mountainous landscape contrasting with Spanish-influenced architecture of compressed earth and bahareque construction with tiled roofs, surrounded by coffee plantations. This territory is brimming with traditions, as demonstrated by its handicrafts, cuisine and fairs which preserve its peasant heritage and folklore. All complemented with 3 of the country’s most important capitals: Manizales, Armenia and Pereira, all modern cities which provide the infrastructure necessary for high-level events.
