Dates to Remember March 19, 2012 Grass Roots Tournament William Land Golf Course Sierra Nevada GCSA An Affiliate Chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America

WILLIAM LAND GOLF COURSE

This year‟s Grassroots tournament and awards recognition event is just around the corner, and promises to be another spectacular event. This year we will be the guests of William Land G.C., the home of the 1st Tee of Greater Sacramento. Superintendent Bob Cline is excited to be hosting the event for the first time, and sharing his course. Morton Golf is partnering with Ewing Irrigation to provide lunch for the group. We‟re also very excited to be bringing Pat

Finlen, CGCS Superintendent of the Olympic Club as our keynote speaker, who, as you know, will be hosting the 2012 U.S. Open. He will be sharing his story with us on how everything is coming along and will be open to questions on this. Pat is also seeking election to the Vice President position on the GCSAA Board of Directors. He will be able to share the tale of this journey as well. We look forward to this Grassroots experience and we want to be

These efforts have helped the First Tee of Greater Sacramento be recognized as a national leader in using the sport of golf to teach life skills and instill core values to over 1,700 kids each year. The First Tee of Greater Sacramento is teaching honesty, integrity, respect, sportsmanship,

responsibility, perseverance, judgment, courtesy, and confidence in order to better prepare our children to become outstanding citizens. The Sierra Nevada Chapter of the GCSA is without a doubt the biggest supporter of (Continued on page 4)
