PROJECT INFORMATION “ Located in the heart of Yishun, Northpoint City will be a new Icon of Yishun, offering seamless connectivity and desirable lifestyle to the residents of Yishun. The development offers over 500 commercial units, an integrated public community centre (the first of its kind) and transportation service under one roof, in addition to the residential towers above. “

NORTHPOINT CITY MIXED DEVELOPMENT, SINGAPORE RESPONSIBILITIES - Worked closely with Senior Architect and Associate for Schematic Design process

documents, and subsequent amendments working with the Technical team

- Worked with Client and Consultants on Design Development Phase on design matters and technical requirements, reporting to Associate and Director

- Liaison with Authority Department Officers via emails and meetings to resolve authority requirement issues

- Worked in a team in documentation of Tender and - Preparation of DC (Development Tender Addendum Drawings and Documents. Control), BP (Building Plan) submission drawings and

- Coordination with Consultants, Contractors and Client’s Project Manager during Construction Phase to resolve design and technical issues - Attend Site Meetings, review Shop Drawings, Materials submissions and RFI, reporting to Associate. Assist in EOT evaluation.

Conceptual Diagram Inspired by the lush greenery on undulating grounds found on the existing Yishun Town Garden, the project extends the greenery onto the façade of the podium, creating a ‘green necklace’ that magnifies the effect of the garden to the entire development, and culminating onto the Level 3 roof garden above the retail mall.

JTC SPACE AT JALAN PESAWAT, SINGAPORE The design proposal is an 8-storey high-rise ramp-up development for 3-storey stack up flexible small footprint factories (SFP) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Production activities traditionally sprawling extensively on land can now be stacked up and vertically integrated over 2 to 3 storey within the unique factory unit framework. The proposal not only allows industrialists to configure their own space and integrate their processes over multiple floors but also encourages company growth by allowing SMEs to build new capabilities and expand into higher value-added industrial activities.

INTERIOR DESIGN & BUILD FOR THE LIGHT RESIDENCE The interior concept celebrates clean lines and the owner’s great interest in local timber. Species of ‘Shorea’ , locally named ‘as Selangan Batu’ was selected for its durability and its beautiful yellowish brown hue. The living room is fitted out with timber ‘beams’ at the soffit of the ceiling that extends vertically to create a feature wall, to define the ‘living space’ from the dining space and kitchen in the open-plan apartment. The timber ‘beams’ also serve to conceal wiring works for the downlights and ceiling fan to omit the use of false ceiling in the light of maximising the floor-to-ceiling height. The master bedroom are furnished with integrated bed frame with bedside table and vanity/ study desk, in addition to a full height wardrobe, in order to leverage on the efficiency of the room to suit the client’s lifestyle despite its small size.

FURNITURE DESIGN The project seeks to produce distinctive furniture pieces using responsibly sourced local timber with local craftmens, catered for small to medium sized residences. Pieces in this first series uses Shorea (Genus) timber that is named ‘Selangan Batu’ locally. This hardwood is very durable and has generally fine and even texture with some interlocking grains. It comes in beautiful yellow to brown hue that is popular with modern homes. The pieces features tesselated surface that adds interest to the pieces and the interior it is in. The tesselated surface demonstrates fine craftmenships as well as textures of natural wood. Apart from that, the tesselated feature also serves to compensates the rather little features found in natural tropical timber.
