MESSAGE FROM THE GM

I am very happy to announce that from this month onward, Spokane Club will be circulating its bi monthly newsletter Anastasiya, who is our Marketing Manager, is leading this initiative and has done a great job I feel the newsletter content and format will evolve over the next few months as we discover what kind of information you value the most The mission of the Spokane Club newsletter is to provide you with information in a comprehensive manner so that you are able to use your club and all its amenities in an easy and fulfilling way.

The Valley Facility sale was a big turning point for the Club financially. We were not only able to pay off the Club’s long standing debt and free the downtown building from the bank as it was also collateral but also free up our cash reserves to start investing back into the Club The board was quick to allocate $750,000 which is to be invested in capital improvements in this financial year. Some of the things already done include the new athletic elevator, much needed technology upgrades, new workout equipment,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! Dear Membership,

new commercial washer/dryer, new carpet in the Library, and the old and stained carpet replaced in the Deli area. I am currently working to get contractors to give bids on other projects like restoring the façade of the historical clubhouse, adding a new outdoor kitchen to the back patio, back patio concrete repair and landscaping, locker updates, restaurant furniture, more carpet replacements, hotel room renovation, and employee area updates.

I am also glad to share that in the first 2 months of this financial year, the Club was profitable along with positive growth in membership numbers in September Profitability is really important in the current context as that allows us to continue to invest back into the Club The overall profitability of the Club is mostly driven by our hotel and catering business, and I urge you to consider using the Club for hosting your holiday parties, social events, meetings, charity events, and even a To Go order for this holiday season so you can spend more time enjoying with your loved ones rather than stressing and working in the kitchen. You can also support the Club by using our hotel when your friends/family visit, your work has people coming from out of state, or simply for a staycation

On the personal front, we were blessed with a healthy baby boy on September 6th! We are all very happy and a little bit tired I can't wait for Ari Sandhu to make his debut at the kids club in a few months' time Like always please feel free to contact me whenever you need anything. For your convenience, my office phone forwards to my cell phone after 3 rings as I am hardly at my desk in my role at the Club You can find my cell phone number and email below as well.

conditioning room mural

We have been working with local artist, Yelena Yunin, to design a mural for the conditioning room What used to be the large green wall in the gym will soon be a wall to wall work of art While we are so excited to be working on this project, we recognize the inconvenience of having scaffolding and other painting equipment set up in the gym We are nearly finished with the first stage of the mural, the sky/background to the picture Yelena will be coming in on October 19th to begin the second/final stage of the mural We will be removing the scaffolding during the time in between so you won't have to work around anything, then setting it back up on the 19th. We're so happy to be adding this mural to our gym and we appreciate your patience with us during this process.

Meet Thomas Cooper, swim instructor at the Club!

"I have been coaching swimmers of all ages for over 4 years now but have spent my whole life in the water Even when I was goofing around in swim lessons as a kid, I improved as a swimmer because I was in the water and having a blast. My philosophy is that learning to swim can and should be fun. I truly believe the best way to learn how to swim is by practicing the technical skills necessary to learn independence in the water with fun games or drills it’s how I learned to love the water and something I try to incorporate into all of my sessions " To schedule lessons with Thomas, visit the Member Portal!

childcare news

Children spread germs easily when in groups They put toys in their mouth, sneeze, cough without covering, and touch their noses and mouths As we dive into cold and flu season, please take a moment to review our Sick Child Policy. We want all the children in our care to be safe and healthy. We do all we can to keep the childcare spaces clean and sanitary. You can help by keeping your child(ren) at home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:

Persistent diarrhea (more than 3 times in 24 hours)

Vomiting more than twice in 24 hours

Fever of over 99

Drainage from the eye, or pink color in the white of the eye

A sore throat, especially with a temperature

Persistent runny nose that needs to be wiped more than 3 times per hour

A cough that is frequent

If they are too sick to go to school, they are too sick to be brought to childcare

If a child is listless, uncomfortable, disoriented, or irritable, they are better off at home getting rest and individual attention

If your child appears sick during their stay, we will call you to pick them up. Thank you for understanding!
