Nature-inspired

As our modern lives become increasingly reliant on technology, it’s no surprise we are looking to incorporate more textures, colours and fibres from the natural world into our homes, as a means to strengthen our connection with the outdoors.

Colours such as browns, beiges, and warm taupe’s are all having a moment, with stronger, richer tones

mimicking the restorative quality of nature, while proving forgiving when it comes to general upkeep.

Perfectly imperfect surfaces such as knotted timbers and chunky woollen loop carpets tie into this theme, providing visual interest and the look of organic, artisanal texture.

Dramatic dark tones

Darker, cooler toned timbers such as walnuts, charred woods and black oaks are growing increasingly popular. Nordic style oaks have been hugely popular for many years now and continue to be so. Think beachy blonde or beige oak. This style has become the new neutral of timber flooring and it’s not hard to see why, it’s soft-toned, light reflecting and complementary to so many different design styles. It feels relaxed, inviting, and care-free, the perfect complement to the laid-back Kiwi lifestyle.

Softness & comfort

With our busy and demanding lives, more and more of us are looking to create the sensation of peace and refuge in our homes. Soft, tactile textures and fibres that provide a soothing quality underfoot are increasingly popular, such as luxurious New Zealand wool carpet paired with dense, cushiony underlays.
