SIGNLINK PRODUCT RANGE OVERVIEW The SignLink Architectural Sign System is manufactured by Sign Supply Corp (W’Sale) Pty Ltd, a 100% Australian owned and operated company that has been established for more than 20 years. The system has been developed to enable designers to signpost large, complex sites in a way, which maintains the architectural theme (all signs have a similar look from a front elevation perspective). The product range includes sign types for both internal and external application ranging from small door signs and directional signs through to large freestanding directories. The SignLink system has been designed with a lot of inbuilt flexibility and functionality. Most sign systems are built around a range of standard size extrusions for the sign panels. The SignLink system has no such restrictions-it can be made to any nominated size. This is a significant advantage for the end user because it enables the designer to provide a sign, which meets the exact size and configuration requirements of the client; it also means that individual signs can be supplied with multiple options within the same sign. Individual signs can also be fitted with combinations of different sign face materials helping to achieve the end look. Photo anodised faceplates together with digital printed faceplates have been widely used. Photo anodised plates have a metallic lustre which makes them very attractive and gives a real wow factor. The system relies largely on magnetic componentry, which allows for simple, functional, cost effective signs without having over complicated designs. The system generally has less component parts to get broken or lost when compared to most other systems in the marketplace. The system has been used extensively in major projects throughout Australia; it is currently being used by the New South Wales Government for the upgrade of all their commercial buildings. The system has proved to be very secure. When all components are in place, unauthorised persons cannot readily remove them without the use of a glazing suction cap, which is provided. Security is a major consideration for universities. Universities are a good testing ground for any sign system. Within these major product groups there is a range of models. For example the directory range is comprised of seven models to enable the designer to meet the challenges from supplying small information signs through to large directories in both wall mounted and ceiling suspended positions. A design feature of the system is that it has a slim line design. The signs have a frame that creates a minimal, unobtrusive appearance resulting in a finished design with clean uncomplicated lines. Most sign frames have a width of 1mm.

THE SYSTEM

Visual Effects The reason for having varying models is to be able to offer a number of different visual effects as well as having directories particularly well suited for either small, medium or large sizes.

3. GRANDEUR - This model also has a square edge, but is 17mm thick. It has an extremely robust frame which is connected by double corner stakes in each corner. The frame also incorporates an internal box section for added strength. This model is ideally suited for large directories. The Avant Garde, Displaymax and Grandeur models are all suitable to to be mounted in recesses because they have a square edge and can be made to nominated custom sizes. 4. DOUBLE-SIDED GRANDEUR - As the name implies, this sign is double sided, hence it can be suspended or mounted between two posts. Visually it looks the same as the Grandeur model from a front elevation position.

2. DISPLAYMAX - This is very similar in appearance to the Avant Garde, however it is 12mm thick. It has a significantly stronger frame which is connected together with corner stakes. This sign is suitable for medium sized directories.

5. PANACHE - This model has a petite 7mm wide radius edge creating a slightly different visual effect which is very appealing.

7. PANORAMA - This model has an optimal removable door which fits neatly inside the Panorama frame. The door offers increased level of security for the panels. The shape of the frame is similar to the Panache except that it is 25mm deep. This model is extremely strong and has been used to make very large signs. See page A9 for illustration of sign which incorporates large digital print, interchangeable directory and colour backed glass decorative panel (the sign covered the whole foyer wall).

6. PORTFOLIO - This model has a pronounced outer frame which is a feature of the sign. It incorporates a 5mm wide recessed stripe which can be either paint filled or laminated with vinyl to achieve a striking decorative effect. This model is particularly well suited to be painted. The frame is also extremely robust with double corner stakes in each corner. It can also be fitted with a removable door (similar to the Panorama model) if required.

AVANT GARDE DIRECTORY SIGNLINK DB510 The Avant Garde directory is a low profile, slim line sign with a minimalistic appearance very well suited for use in modern buildings. From a front elevation perspective the outer frame is not very noticeable as it is less than 1mm thick. The design intent is to have a directory sign which features the panels rather than the outer frame.The overall thickness of the sign is only 6mm. This model directory is suitable for small to medium size directories such as floor level directories in office buildings. The maximum recommended size is 1200 x 900mm. This sign is ideal for use in high pedestrian traffic areas. The directory panels mount inside the outer frame - they can either be the standard extruded panel type or custom cut panels which are custom made to meet most size requirements. Standard panel heights are 100mm, 84mm, 63mm, 50mm, 42mm, 35mm, 30mm, 25mm & 21mm. Fixing is by double sided tape and glue. Signs can be mechanically fixed if a reinforcing plate is mounted in the back of the sign. Reinforcing plates can also be used to extend the bearing area when signs are mounted directly onto glass walls.

DISPLAYMAX DIRECTORY SIGNLINK DB520 The Displaymax has been developed to meet the need to have a directory system which has simple clear lines, is economical and fulfills the aesthetic requirements of designers and specifiers. This model is the next step up the range from the Avant Garde model. The outer frame is a minimal thickness at 1mm thick. It is suitable to make signs up to 1500 x 1500mm. The frame has been designed to allow for bracing at the rear, which would be needed when making the larger sizes. The frame is connected with corner stakes. The overall thickness of the sign is 12mm. The directory panels mount inside the outer frame. They are front loading - they can be the standard extruded panel type or custom cut panels which are custom made to meet most size requirements. Standard panel heights are 100mm, 84mm, 63mm, 50mm, 42mm, 35mm, 30mm, 25mm & 21mm. Fixing of the sign is mechanical, double sided tape or glue. The sign is supplied complete with pre drilled fixing holes.

GRANDEUR DIRECTORY SIGNLINK DB530 The Grandeur model is similar to the Displaymax and Avant Garde models in that the outer frame has a slimline square edge. The Grandeur is the â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;big brotherâ&#x20AC;?of the three models which have square edges. It has a very robust frame with internal reinforcing blades which connect together with double corner stakes in each corner. This model is suitable to make large sizes up to 1200 x 3000mm. The sign accepts a SignLink aluminium split batten for mounting on the wall. The split batten locates neatly in a recess at the back of the sign. This model can be set up with special decorative enhancements such as decorator panels from slumped acrylic painted in metallic colour to suit.

GRANDEUR DIRECTORY The Grandeur model is suitable to be used as a plinth sign if mounted on a freestanding sub-frame, which is mechanically fixed into a concrete base. These signs are usually located in the foyer area of modern office buildings. They can be set up with a range of panel types including decorative materials, permanently fixed in place or interchangeable. The Grandeur is also an appropriate option when upgrading an existing directory structure. For example the ‘Exchange House photo illustrates a Grandeur directory which replaced an existing dilapidated sign. The existing stainless steel posts were retained. Directory panels mount inside the outer frame they can either be the standard extruded panel type or custom cut panels which are custom made to meet most size requirements. Standard panel heights are 100mm, 84mm, 63mm, 50mm, 42mm, 35mm, 30mm, 25mm & 21mm. Panels can be supplied complete with the Signlink “Perma Print’ graphics. This is a permanent printing process whereby the ink is deposited below the surface of the panels. The print is impervious to grafﬁti and the lettering cannot be scratched off which makes it ideal for situations such as hospitals where it could be located in sterile environments and be subject to cleaning with aggressive cleansing agents.

DOUBLE SIDED GRANDEUR DIRECTORY SIGNLINK DB540 This model is very similar to the Grandeur directory model except that it is double sided. It has been designed to be suspended from a ceiling or alternatively it can be set up as a freestanding directory between two posts. The overall depth of the frame is 25mm with the edge being 1.2mm thick. It appears as a thin obelisk panel either suspended or floor mounted. This model is often used in medical suites mounted behind glass shopfronts. The system is very flexible. It can have a typical diectory on one side with poster displays on the rear side or directories both sides. The method of suspending the sign can be either stainless steel wire or rigid rod. The directory panels mount inside the outer frame - they can either be the standard extruded panel type or custom cut panels which are custom made to meet most size requirements. PANACHE DIRECTORY SIGNLINK DB550 The Panache directory has a distinctive slimline, radius edge frame which makes the sign appear very sophisticated and stylish. The radius edge has the effect of softening the appearance of the sign. This model is often selected for use in up market situations. It is well suited to be used in high pedestrian traffic areas because of the radius edge. The sign is available in satin natural anodised finish as well as bright gold and bright silver. The directory panels mount inside the outer frame in the same fashion as all other directory models in the range. The panels can be either the standard extruded panel type or custom cut panels which are custom made to suit most size requirements. Standard panel heights are 100mm, 84mm, 63mm, 50mm, 42mm, 35mm, 30mm, 25mm & 21mm. Mounting is by way of mechanical fixings.The sign is supplied with pre drilled fixing holes. It incorporates a 5mm wide recessed line which can be paint filled or have vinyl applied to achieve a striking pin stripe around the perimeter of the sign. The frame is extremely strong and is ideally suited for large directories in major building foyers or large external building directories. The directory panels mount inside the frame they can either be the standard extruded panel type or custom cut panels which are made to meet most size requirements. PANORAMA DIRECTORY SIGNLINK DB560 The Panorama directory is a top end model which can incorporate a removable door (door is optional). It is well suited for large directories which need the extra protection of a cover over the panels to prevent unauthorised interference with the sign. It is ideally suited for use by State and Federal transport departments where they require secure functional cabinets. The Panorama sign has a unique double frame system. The cover is removed by means of a powerful glazing suction cap. The cover has an aluminium frame which mounts inside the outer frame of the sign. The cover can be either acrylic or polycarbonate. The Panorama frame has a radius edge. The sign is available in satin natural anodised aluminium ﬁnish or custom painting is available. The directory panels are generally custom cut to suit. Fixing is by way of the SignLink aluminium split batten which mounts into a recess at the back of the sign. The Panorama model is particularly well suited to be used for very large directories which incorporate multiple segments. For example the illustration shows a sign which takes up the whole wall and includes a digitally printed logo/map panel, interchangeable directory (without cover) and coloured glass decorator panel.

POST AND PANEL SIGNS 1000 SERIES POST AND PANEL SIGNS The Signlink 1000 series has been designed to fulfill most primary identification needs as well as meet secondary directional signposting requirements for significant sites such as corporate industrial estates, universities, hospitals and similar institutions.The product group offers the sign company a wide range of options including five different types of sign poles and several different types of panels including panels which incorporate interchangeable text or poster plates. A unique feature of the system is that interchangeable panels are front loading. This is a major practical benefit of the SignLink post and panel product range. All sign poles are extruded aluminium with aluminium caps and trims to suit. No use has been made of plastic componentry. All panels mount securely into internal tracks in the posts which are located on the inner side of the poles. Some of the posts have been designed to accept internal galvanised steel box sections which significantly increases the strength of the poles when needed. The sign system is available to the sign trade in a knock down kit form, with or without sign faces as well as a fully assembled form. When assembled all fixings are fully concealed from sight. ECONOPANELS POST AND PANEL SIGNS These panels have been designed as the name implies, to deliver excellent economy without compromising the functional or aesthetic value of the sign. They are quite simple to put together as there are only two elements to assemble onto the face panel. The sign face material is 6mm thick, double sided Dibond, which is a composite panel with painted aluminium faces on both sides. Dibond is an extremely strong, rigid sign material which is made in Germany specifically for the sign industry. Powdercoated white cover trims are mounted over the top and bottom cut edges of the panel. The Dibond is fixed into a mounting track on both the left hand and right hand sides, which in turn mounts inside the sign pole. Panels which are wider than 1550mm have a secondary 16 x 16mm reinforcing trim top and bottom of panel. The Econopanel achieves its cost savings by greatly reducing the labour cost to make the panel. Econopanels are also very suitable to be used for flag mounted signs on one post. They are supplied to the market in a knock down kit form with or without face panels.

HALLMARK PANELS POST AND PANEL SIGNS These panels are 25mm thick and are a fully fabricated, high quality panels. They are constructed from a proprietary multi function frame section which accepts a variety of face plates up to 5mm thick. Face plates mount on both sides of the panel. Composite aluminium face plates at 3mm thick are the most commonly used type and can be made in sizes up to 2450 x 1250. Face plates can also be made from thinner material such as 1.2 satin natural anodised aluminium sheet. Thinner face plate materials require an inner H grade polystyrene core which gives the necessary support to the face plates and makes them resistant to dents. Face plates can be set up so that they are either interchangeable or, alternatively, combinations permanently mounted. Interchangeable panels attach firmly in place with all panels abutting closely to form hairline joints. Interchangeable panels are front loading and can only be removed with the supplied glazing suction cap. The front loading feature makes Hallmark panels ideally suited to be used in situations where regular changes need to be made. Hallmark panels are supplied to the sign trade in component form or fully assembled. In order to assemble panels companies need to have the ability to mitre cut aluminium accurately. SLIDING FACE PLATES Face plates from sheet material such as 1.2mm thick satin natural anodised aluminium or painted white aluminium, slide into the frames front and back. The face plates are located in an internal groove within the frame. They are removed by unscrewing the end piece and sliding out the plate. Where there are multiple planks in a bank, the horizontal frames which abut together interlock by means of a grooved and T section within the frame. Signs are supplied with stainless steel support wires with locking cylinders which allow for level adjusting of the signs.

FRONT LOADING FACE PLATE This type of sign has a single outer frame. Face plates mount onto a backplate magnetically. This allows maximum flexibility including vertical panels. Changing panels does not involve any disassembly of the sign. These signs are widely used in hospitals and medical facilities. Signs are supplied either in a knock down kit form or fully assembled. The standard finish is satin natural anodized.

PROJECTING CS300P SIGNS The SignLink CS300P projecting sign utilizes the same outer sign frame as the CS300 ceiling suspended sign, except that it mounts onto the wall so that it projects out at 90 degrees. These signs are primarily used in hallways, locations to identify facilities which otherwise would not be readily seen from the beginning of a hallway. The sign appears as a blade which projects out from the wall. This sign type is primarily used for small to medium size signs. A maximum width of 500 is recommended. All fixings are internal. The standard frame finish is satin natural silver anodized. Face plates can be any sheet material up to 1.6 thick.

CEILING SUSPENDED HALLMARK SIGNS CS400H SERIES Signlink CS400H series Hallmark ceiling suspended signs are comprised of a robust outer frame 25mm deep x 1mm thick. The signs can be set up so that they have either permanent face plates or front loading interchangeable panels, or combinations of both. The face plates can be any nominated material up to 3mm thick. The signs are available in any nominated size (no standard signs) with the exception that either the height or width cannot be less than 110mm. The sign offers the designer maximum flexibility in that they can be made to any particular size to suit the design and the face plates can be whatever material suits the application. Composite aluminium panels which are digitally printed are the most widely used type. Another significant benefit of the design is that the interchangeable panels are front loading. No disassembly of the sign is required. This feature makes it easy for non-technical staff to change signs as required. The signs are supplied with stainless steel wire with cable mount fittings which allow for level adjustment. The fittings are chrome plated brass. Alternatively, the signs can be fittied with rigid rod fittings. The standard finish for the sign is satin natural silver anodised.

PROJECTING HALLMARK SIGN CS400HP The projecting Hallmark sign has the same construction as the ceiling suspended model (CS400H) except that it is not supplied with ceiling suspension fittings. Rather, it has provision for mechanical fixing internally through the side that butts up to the wall. When mounted in place it appears as a panel at 90 degrees to the wall. The sign sits flush up against the wall without any visible fixings. The face plates can be either permanent, interchangeable or combinations of both. The signs are supplied in any nominated size with the proviso that the height and width cannot be less than 110mm. The sign has a particularly robust frame which makes it suitable for large signs, however wind loading must be taken into account if signs are situated in external locations or in entrances which have wind tunnel effects. It is recommended that signs be mounted into solid walls. If being located onto gyprock walls, position the sign so that an internal vertical stud can be used to fix units. The standard finish for the sign is satin natural silver anodised.

DERNIER DOOR PLATES DP100 SERIES

DERNIER DOOR SERIES SINGLE LINE DOOR PLATE The â&#x20AC;&#x153;SignLink Dernier Seriesâ&#x20AC;? of door plates are ideally suited for commercial offices, hospitals, medical suites and similar organizations where a simple slimline name plate is required which is interchangeable and has no visible fixings. The Dernier range has several different models which provide for most typical requirements including: single door plates, multiple line door plates, door signs which incorporate sliding plates, paper insert plates, door plates which accept engraving laminates and combinations of all these different types. Security models are also available. The Dernier series door plates all have similar features. They all have interchangeable face plates and a fixed mounting plate. The faceplate has a recess in the back which houses magnetic rubber which enables it to attach magnetically to the mounting plate. The mounting plate has two small vertical returns to enclose the ends of the faceplate. Where there are two or more faceplates in a sign, it is supplied with a single mounting plate to suit the overall sign size. The Dernier series door plates are well suited to be mounted on opening doors as they are all held firmly in place by a magnetic strip - they will not move or rattle. Fixing of the signs is by means of double sided tape being applied to the back of the mounting plate. Often the signs are mounted on internal glass walls or windows. A vinyl cover plate is generally mounted on the rear face of the glass to conceal the double sided tape. The signs have minimal components. There are no separate end pieces or mounting clips to get lost or broken. You can expect the the signs to give many years of service. The signs can be fitted with special mounting brackets which enable them to clip into work station furniture. Some situations require a door sign which is permanent rather than interchangeable. The Dernier Series can be permanently mounted by substituting double sided tape for the magnetic strip.

SECURITY DOOR PLATE DOOR PLATE - DP100 - SSEC As the name implies, this model is a security door plate. All sides of the sign are fully enclosed which results in the face plate not being able to be readily removed by unauthorised persons. This model has been specifically developed for universities where security is a significant issue. All the different models listed below are available in the security format with the proviso that 42mm high is the minimum height. The face plate simply plugs into the sign body in a front loading position. It is removed by means of a suction cup.

‘PERMA PRINT’ PHOTO ANODISING Signlink ‘Perma Print’ photo anodising is a ‘top shelf’ printing process that delivers full photographic quality prints which are embedded into aluminium panels. This printing process is suitable for both internal and external applications. The printed panels when complete have an attractive metallic lustre which makes them suitable for use in high profile locations such as board rooms and the like. The ‘Perma Print’ photo anodised graphics give a real wow factor to the sign. The graphics are long lasting, lightfast, weather and chemical resistant images impregnated into the surface of the aluminium. The pores of aluminium are opened and highly stable dyes are printed into the metal (below the surface). A thermochemical sealing process then locks in the dyes and the resultant image possesses remarkable durability characteristics. Images produced are not limited to solid areas of one colour, but can be full colour imaging reproduced from photographs and colour blended artwork. ‘Perma Print’ complies with US Military specification A8625 Federal Standards P455B type ii. The image cannot be affected by any solvent. All multicoloured images have been extensively tested by full immersion in Kerosene, Petrol, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Alcohol, Oil and Grease with no detrimental affect. The ‘Perma Print’ photo anodised panels have been extensively used for opening plaques for public buildings and facilities as well as information plaques for zoos and historical plaques. They are ideally suited to be used by local councils because of their anti-graffiti qualities and longevity. The print can be produced to match any nominated PMS colour. The printed panels can be supplied mounted in Singlink frames if required. The frame enhances the appearance of the photo anodised panel and profices a means of mechanically fixing the panel in place without any visible fixings.

AVANT GARDE POSTER DISPLAY AVANT GARDE PD910 The Avant Garde poster display has an extremely thin outer frame to create a minimalistic slimline appearance. It utilizes the same sign body as the Avant Garde directory, except that it has a removable polycarbonate cover instead of directory panels. The poster is housed behind the cover which has a 14mm wide screenprinted silver border around the perimeter. Sizes A2 and larger have a 28mm w border. This model is ideally suited to be used in office situations to display A4 sheets and the like. The cover is removed with a supplied suction cap. The unit is also available in a form which incorporates a separate header panel. This panel is usually used to display corporate logos. The sign is also available in the form of a Pivot Poster, which is supplied with the plastic cover hinged across the top edge. This type of cover allows a slightly longer display area for the poster. The Avant Garde model is not suitable for mechanical fixing. It needs to be installed with double sided tape and glue. Standard finish is satin natural anodised. This model is also supplied without a cover. The sign company supplies their own print which is encapsulated in clear film or laminated to a thin substrate. Self adhesive magnetic tape is supplied which the sign company applies to the back of the print. This makes an extremely economical, functional sign, which is very secure with edge to edge display. The Avant Garde poster display in this form has been extensively used in retail outlets for menu systems. It is very easy for the customer to replace the panels when an item on the menu changes. They simply remove the old print with the suction cap and insert the new one which is supplied by the sign company. The system always looks good. Staff do not have to have any particular mechanical aptitude the change the sign.

ALPHA POSTER DISPLAY & DISPLAYMAX POSTER DISPLAY ALPHA PD901 The Alpha model poster display has been designed as a low costl model. The poster is displayed between a polycarbonate face panel and a signwhite back plate. This model offers the advantage of edge to edge display (the poster is only covered over 3mm all round the perimeter by the outer trim). The top trim is removable which allows the polycarbonate cover with the poster behind to slide out of the frame from the top. The top trim can be secured either magnetically or by two screw fixings. The sign can be mounted in place either by mechanical fixings or glue and double sided tape. Standard finish is satin natural anodised.

DISPLAYMAX PD920 The Displaymax model looks similar to the Avant Garde model except that it is slightly deeper @ 12mm thick. It functions in the same way with a front loading polycarbonate cover which is held in place magnetically. The cover has a screenprinted 14mm wide border all round the perimeter. Models larger than A3 have a 28mm W border. The Displaymax model has a strong frame which is connected with corner stakes. It is suitable for sizes up to 1200 x 1500mm however the largest standard size is A0. This unit is mounted by mechanical fixings. Keyhole fixings available on request. It is suitable to be mounted in wall recesses. The Displaymax is available in two standard anodised finishes of satin natural silver and black.

INFOPANEL POSTER DISPLAY INFOPANEL PD925 The Infopanel Poster Display is primarily used to mount posters which are laminated onto a display substrate (such as 3mm thick composite aluminium) which in turn mount into the sign body and attach magnetically to the back of the sign. The outer edges of the poster sit flush up against the inside edge of the Infopanel frame which is only 1mm thick, hence the posters have a frameless appearance â&#x20AC;&#x201C; there is no outer border other than the 1mm thick sign frame. The signs are supplied with a wall mounting rail which enables the sign to be mechanically fixed. The maximum recommended size is A0. Standard finish is satin natural anodised silver.

GRANDEUR POSTER DISPLAY GRANDEUR PD930 / PDP40 The Grandeur model is the next model up the range from the Displaymax. It is similar in appearance and functionality to the Displaymax. The Grandeur has an extremely robust frame which is connected with double corner stakes in each corner. This model is suitable for large sizes in excess of 1200 x 1500mm. It is available in both satin natural anodised silver and satin black finishes. Typical uses include displaying large movie poster displays or product posters in retail outlets. It is mechanically fixed with the SignLink split batten. This model is not carried in a range of standard sizes. Each order is custom made to suit customer requirements. The Grandeur poster display is also available in a double sided form. It looks and functions the same as the single sided unit except that it is 25mm thick instead of 17mm. The double sided unit can be either suspended on stainless steel wires or rigid rod. The double sided unit is often used to display promotional material behind shopfront windows.

PANORAMA POSTER DISPLAY & PANACHE POSTER DISPLAY PANORAMA PD960 The Panorama poster display is a high quality, robust display cabinet specifically designed to be used in environments where it could be subject to interference. It is ideally suited for use by Local Councils or State and Federal transport departments to display timetable or advertising information. The Panorama model does not have any of the typical features of traditional cabinets such as hinges and locks which can attract the attention of vandals. When mounted in position it appears as a permanent display without any obvious way to open it. The sign has a unique double frame system, with a cover which is removable and is held in place by aggressive magnets. There are two options for the inner frame - either the “Exhibition” frame which is suitable for the larger sizes or the “Slenda” frame which offers edge to edge display. The standard cabinet finish is satin natural anodised. Custom painting is available. This model is not stocked in a range of standard sizes.

PANACHE PD950 The Panache model has distinctive styling. It has a very attractive semi quadrant frame which makes the sign very appealing to the eye. It appears as a slender cabinet with a discreet curved outer frame. It has a front loading magnetic cover which incorporates a screenprinted border with magnetic tape behind. The model operates in exactly the same way as the Avant Garde and Displaymax models. This model is available in a range of finishes including satin natural anodised, polished bright gold and silver anodised. This model is primarily suited for internal use.

It is ideally suited to be located on external walls of pubs and night clubs. The Portfolio model has a striking frame which incorporates a recessed pin stripe which can be paint filled or have vinyl inserted. This model has the same features as the Panorama model except that it has a more prominent frame. The frame has a softly rounded shark nose shape making it very safe for external use. The sign can also be mounted between two posts to display public notices. The Exhibition frame can accommodate 5.38mm thick laminated glass enabling it to be used in restaurants as a write on / wipe off menu board. WALL PANELS Wall panels are used in a wide range of applications when signposting commercial complexes. They can be used for small notice signs, pictogram panels, directional signs through to sophisticated foyer signs with high levels of finish which reflect the clientâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s corporate image. The traditional way for the sign trade to supply a wall panel has been to simply mount a flat sign plate on a wall. The SignLink range of wall panels offers the sign craftsman the opportunity to supply a sign with a much higher level of finesse than a flat plate. It converts flat plates into signs which have some body with all edges enclosed. Panels can be either interchangeable or permanently fixed. All panels have secret fixings. The range is comprised of seven models:

ALPHA WALL PANEL WP201

This model has a slimline anodised aluminium frame which is mitre cut at the corners to fully surround the sign plate. The frame incorporates an internal screw flute which enables the end pieces to be removable so that face plates can be interchangeable. Face plates can be any sign sheet material up to 1.6mm thick. This sign type offers the customer the facility of updating signs without having to replace the whole sign. Face plates are relatively cheap to replace as they are not proprietary items. For this reason these panels are widely used by hospitals. The frames are supplied to the sign trade in a range of standard sizes with or without face plates. This model is suitable for small to medium sized panels up to 1200 x 300mm high.

The text plate is secured by the two wall rails, and has 5mm returns enclosing the ends of the sign. The text plate is interchangeable by moving the top wall rail up 3mm, which releases the text plate. The text plate and wall rails are satin natural anodised. Custom painting is available on request. This model has been widely used to make a range of small internal signs wich are typically needed in all commercial buildings. The wall panel is part of the Avant Garde family of signs which also include directories and poster displays, hence designers are able to maintain a design theme throughout the building. WALL PANELS DISPLAYMAX WALL PANEL WP220 The Displaymax wall panel is the next model up the product range after the Avant Garde model. It has a more substantial frame at 12mm deep. It is best suited for small to medium size signs, particularly where they are required to be mechanically fixed. Otherwise, it looks and operates in the same way as the Avant Garde model. It has mostly been used for external signs. Face panels can be either permanent or interchangeable. The standard finish is satin natural anodised silver. Signs are made to suit any nominated sign.

INFOPANEL WALL PANEL WP225 This model has been designed specifically to accept pin board materials such as knomenie and cork. It appears the same as the Displaymax model with the same frame shape and depth. The Infopanel also has a wall mounting rail which mounts into a recess at the back of the sign â&#x20AC;&#x201C; then enables the installer to fix into vertical wall studs when mounting onto gyprock walls. The signs in the photo illustrate signs which have been fitted with paper grip strips across the top of the pin board segment.

WALL PANELS GRANDEUR WALL PANEL WP230

This panel is designed for the larger range of wall panels. It has a very substantial frame which can be mechanically fixed to the background, even over rough surfaces. The frame has a square edge and even though it has significant internal members the frame does not feature when viewed from the front - it is only 1.2mm thick and 17mm deep. The frame will accept face plates up to 6mm thick. The frames are available in satin natural anodised or powdercoated white finish. They are generally supplied to the sign trade in a knock down kit form. The corners are connected with double corner stakes which are supplied.

PANACHE WALL PANEL WP250

This is a particularly handsome model which has a petite radius edge 7mm wide all round the sign. It is often used in situations where the wall panel is required to make a statement in terms of its appearance, such as foyer signs or plaques. The frame is available in satin natural anodised finish, polished bright silver and polished bright gold anodised. Face plates are often panels such as stainless steel or SignLink â&#x20AC;&#x153;Perma Print â&#x20AC;&#x153; photo anodised panels. This sign makes an ideal plaque.

WALL PANELS PANORAMA WALL PANEL WP260

This panel is suitable for the very large sign panels. It is capable of spanning across building facias if required. It will accept face plates up to 15mm thick Standard finish is satin natural anodised. Custom painting is available on request. The â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;kindelinâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; sign has been fitted with horizontal security trims as the panels are interchangeable.

PORTFOLIO WALL PANEL WP270 This model is the big brother of the Panorama model. It has all the same features of the Panorama except that it has a pronounced outer edge with a shark nose shape @ 50mm wide. It also incorporates a 5mm wide shadow line recess which can have vinyl striping inserted or be paint filled in a contrasting colour. This frame is very suitable to be used for large panels at ground level where the panel needs to have a frame with distinguishing aesthetic features. The frame has rounded edges making it very suitable for high pedestrian traffic areas. Standard finish is satin natural anodised. Custom painting is available on request.

SIGNLINK SPLIT BATTEN

THE SIGNLINK SPLIT BATTEN The SignLink Split Batten range is comprised of three models, LB, HD1 and HD2. They are self-mating aluminium extrusions used to mount signs and fixtures to walls and facias.

HD1 Model

One batten is screwed to the wall in a horizontal position so that it goes across the internal vertical wall studs, thus enabling it to be fixed into something solid. The second batten is mounted on the back of the sign so that when located in position the two blades interlock. The blades of the split batten form a â&#x20AC;&#x153;wedgeâ&#x20AC;? connection that is very strong. When the split battens are under load, the two blades bite together making a very robust fixing mechanism. The HD1 and HD2 models have a semi circular groove, which forms a 5mm dia. hole when the two blades come together. The groove can either be filled with silicon for a permanent connection between the two blades or alternatively a 5mm threaded rod can be inserted which enables both battens to be locked together. The rod can be removed with either a punch or magnet. HD2 Model (Available Feb 2011)

Both the LB and the HD2 models have been designed with internal shoulders which results in both battens locking firmly into place, preventing any further movement down the wall once they are under load. The SignLink Split Battens have been designed to work with the SignLink range of directories, wall panels, and poster display units. Most of the models have a recess at the back which will house the split batten so that once installed the sign will mount flush up against the wall. If the split battens are used to fix sheet material on fixtures such as cabinets etc, the LB model mounts 5mm of the wall and the HD1 and HD2 mount 8.5mm of the wall. The split batten is a very efficient cost effective method of mounting panels to the wall. In many cases it will have the effect of reducing installation costs. Large signs can be installed by one man instead of two. The split batten generally makes installation easier and quicker as compared to traditional fixing methods. Apart from sign panels and the like, it has been used to install individual letters on building facias. The battens are cut into smaller lengths to suit the width of the letters. The split battens allow the sign company to achieve a mechanical fixing when installing letters, without fixing through the letter face. The product also has many applications for the shop fitting trade. It is supplied to the market in 4.8LM lengths in mill finish. Discount applies for buying in bulk.
