DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS - PARCEL MAPPING

NIC / NLA design considerations for the Pedro Plain Region

• 15,500 parcels identified in the project region

• Approx 7,900 assumed farming parcels

• Fragmentation rate of parcels from informal subdivision assumed at 2.5 on average

• Ownership Mapping Target: 19,900 (land surveys and attribute data)

• Estimated 60% of the parcels in the region / parish unregistered

• Projected high incidence of mis-match in name of owners and occupiers

POSITIVE WATER VAPOUR FEEDBACK

Atmospheric water vapor absorbs heat radiated from the Earth and prevents it from escaping outwards to space, further warming the atmosphere, and resulting in even more water vapor in the atmosphere.

Scientists refers to this as the "positive feedback loop.“

It is estimated that this effect more than doubles the warming that would happen due to increasing carbon dioxide alone

FUNDING WATER RESILIENCE WITH ESG CARBON OFFSETS

Unexpected and surprising outpouring of interest from ESGEnterprises in the metropoles seeking out opportunities to fund Post-Beryl Water Resilience by Carbon Offset Trades

EVOLUTION OF ESG

• Governments globally have signed-off on landmark agreements such as the Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement, committing themselves to reduce GHG emissions.

• Businesses have steadily adopted ESG a part of their strategy and are voluntarily reporting, marketing, and investment. Interest took off rapidly after the 2015 Paris Agreement.

• ESG, especially the ‘E’ component, is now shifting from a voluntary regime to a mandatory one, with a host of new laws being proogrammed, including mandatory reporting, carbon pricing, and carbon import fees, as well as more state support and investment for clean energy technologies.

• Carbon offsetting is at a crossroads. Demand for voluntary offsetting schemes designed to neutralise corporations and individuals’ carbon footprints are at an all-time high. This $1bn market could hit $190bn within eight years 92030) as demand for carbon credits is predicted to skyrocket 50-fold by 2050 (USD2trilion).

CARBON AGENDA 2025

• 2025; The EU’s deforestation rules will take effect.

- 2070

• 2030; Canada’s target year for producing zero plastic waste.

• 2025; This will be the likely first reporting year for (International Sustainability Standards Board) ISSB reporting standards.

• 2026; Import fees for the world’s first major carbon border tax, The EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) will begin.

• 2027; EU rules on battery recycling, labeling, and passporting will take effect.

• 2027; Earliest start year for road transport and buildings to be covered by the EU Emission Trading Systems (ETS).

• 2030; The UK’s ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars will take effect.

• 2034; The EU CBAM and ETS 2 will be fully phased in.

• 2035; The EU ban on sales of internal combustion engine cars will take effect.

• 2035; The US government is to end its own purchases of gas-powered vehicles.

• 2050; The EU, UK, and US target date for achieving net zero GHG emissions.

• 2060; China’s target date for achieving net zero GHG emissions.

• 2070; India’s target date for achieving net zero GHG emissions.

INTERSECTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABLE GOVERNANCE (ESG) CARBON CREDITS, ALLOWANCES, PERMITS, OFFSETS

• The global carbon offset/carbon credit market was valued at 331.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. It is expected that the global carbon offset/carbon credit market will grow at a CAGR of 31 percent during the forecast period of 2023 to 2028 to reach a value of 1.6 trillion U.S. dollars.

• Carbon offsetting is at a crossroads. Demand for voluntary offsetting schemes designed to neutralise corporations and individuals’ carbon footprints are at an all-time high.
