Over 100 islands welcome you to endless discovery

A NATURAL HAVEN

French Polynesia’s untouched landscapes feature emerald green forests, shiny sandy beaches, multi-coloured coral reefs and pristine turquoise waters, all competitors in the world’s most breathtaking beauty contest. The wonder continues underwater, with unique and colourful marine life, including over 800 unique species of fish, coral and sea turtle.

INCREDIBLE CUISINE

From seafood staples such as ‘ota ‘ika (poisson cru), Tahiti’s national dish of raw fish marinated in coconut milk and lime to more elaborate dishes featuring pahua (giant clams), French Polynesian cuisine is like nothing you’ve ever tasted. Finish off your meal with a touch of delicious poe , a dessert made of mashed banana and pumpkin, but make sure to say “Tama’a Maita’i!” (bon appétit!) before you begin.

MILLENNARY CULTURES

With a history spanning 3,000 years, from the earliest Polynesian explorers to the famed navigators of more recent times, this part of the world is a unique mix of influences and traditions. You’ll witness many of them through the craftsmanship, music, dance and stories of Mana , the mysterious foundation of Polynesian culture that permeates all aspects of daily life.

BRIGHT DAYS, BRIGHTER NIGHTS

Though the sun blesses the days of these isles year-round, the colours really come alive in the evening, as some of the most incredible sunsets on the planet happen right at the edges of these remote archipelagos. Sit back, relax and enjoy the dusk, as day turns to glamorous glittering night for star-gazing opportunities like nowhere else.

17

The three souls of French Polynesia

Each archipelago has its own personality and magic

SOCIETY ISLANDS

The westernmost archipelago of French Polynesia, the Society Islands, features otherworldly landscapes that are volcanic in origin, with deep browns, greens and turquoise blues and low-lying mountains revealing rainbows of coral. Atoll after atoll of stunning shores are yours to explore, including the “Cradle of Polynesian Culture”, Raiatea.

TUAMOTU ARCHIPELAGO

Like a string of shiny pearls laid across the deep blues of the South Pacific, the 80 atolls of Tuamotu lie low against the waters with fine white sand bars and swaying green palm trees perched atop rich coral reefs. The main islands, Rangiroa and Fakarava, feature deep clear lagoons, a range of incredible marine wildlife, and places that come alive with the traditions and history of French Polynesia.

MARQUESAS ISLANDS

At the northeastern end of French Polynesia, the Marquesas include some of the most remote islands in the entire world and even have their own time zone. Hidden bays shimmer among hills full of exotic vegetation and wildlife that serve as a backdrop to a vibrant culture. You'll be immersed in events and activities that reveal how local communities live, play and thrive in these faraway isles.

PRIVATE MOTU DAY AND CULTURAL EXPERIENCE

The first of our many signature experiences, we’ll set off from Moorea lagoon and head for the crystalline waters of famed Cook Bay and Opunohu Bay, with incredible views that stretch from mountain to sea. Then, you'’ll be welcomed by locals to our very own private motu island for the entire day, where we’ll enjoy some rest and relaxation on the island’s beaches, a traditional BBQ, and some inspiring music and art performances created by local artists.

E-BIKE COASTAL EXPERIENCE

For a different way to explore the island of Raitaea, glide along the island’s emerald coast on an easy-to-ride e-bike. Fun and sustainable, it’s the perfect way to slowly take in the beauty of the lush vegetation, spectacular beaches and the surrounding magnificence of the Society Islands. An expert guide will lead you to the most picturesque areas and lookouts throughout the island for a truly unforgettable experience.

CULINARY EXPERIENCE: MOOREA FOOD & COOKLAB

There’s no better way to explore a culture than with a hands-on look at what it’s like to create its cuisine yourself. On the atoll of Moorea, you’ll visit a traditional vegetable garden and learn all about local plants and ingredients. Then you’ll put on an apron and try your hand at recreating local dishes to reveal a host of new fare and flavours to you and your fellow travellers. Finally, you’ll get to sit down and sample your own creations: Arearea maita’i! (Enjoy!)

STAR GAZING AND LEGENDS STORYTELLING

From onboard a traditional vessel in the middle of Bora Bora’s enchanting lagoon, you’ll learn how ancient Polynesian explorers used the stars to navigate their way across the Pacific Ocean. Follow the sun as it dips below the horizon to reveal a night full of brilliant stars, as your guide points out the constellations and recounts several legends of Polynesia while you savour delicious sparkling wine and a selection of local nibbles.
