Serving Liturgical Renewal has been written in honour of Patrick Jones, former Director of the National Centre for Liturgy, and brings together a collection of essays from some of Ireland’s leading liturgical scholars. Values–Leadership–Change: Messages from Céifin, edited by Harry Bohan and Brian Callanan, takes a look back at the papers delivered during a decade of Céifin conferences, which focused on key social issues facing Ireland, and the prescient messages they delivered. For children, Ailís Travers has written an engaging account of Pope Francis in Pope Francis: The Story of Our Pope. Fully illustrated, this book makes the perfect addition to any home or classroom. We also have the 2015 editions of both Sacred Space: The Prayer Book, the popular daily prayer guide from the Jesuit Communication Centre, and the Liturgical Calendar for Ireland, the essential guide to the Church’s daily round of prayer. October 2014 | 978 1 84730 571 8 160pp | 215mm x 138mm Paperback | Social Commentary

From 1998 to 2009, over eighty papers were presented at the annual Céifin conferences, focusing on key social issues facing Ireland. Values–Leadership–Change: Messages from Céifin is a collection of the ideas presented during these twelve annual conferences. Grouped into four themes, the lessons focus on the twin values of our inner identity and collective potential, drawing from both Christian and humanist traditions. They recommend that we integrate these values into the mainstream of public policies: promoting social capital of networks and reciprocity; resourcing people to realise their potential with authenticity; and providing a framework of power and leadership based on equity, quality and vision in a global world.
About the Editors Fr Harry Bohan has been a priest in the diocese of Killaloe for over fifty years. A qualified sociologist, he is a pioneer in the areas of rural housing and community development. He established the Céifin Centre in 1998, a think tank for values-led change. One of Ireland’s leading social commentators, he has written substantially about Christianity, spirituality and economic development. A hurling enthusiast, he is also former manager of the Clare hurling team. Brian Callanan is a retired planning officer with Shannon Development. He undertook extensive planning exercises in the use of European structural funds in the Mid-West of Ireland in the 1980s and led Ireland’s first regional innovation strategy in the 1990s. He also gave expert support to development programmes in new EU member states in eastern Europe and was project manager of several European co-operation projects in regional development.
