DESIGN VALUES

I am very interested in how technology and architecture are becoming one. This advancement is generating a way to new architecture and urban planning that would pave ways for communities to strive. When I graduate I have a dream that one day I will be able to rebuild my country after the devastation of the war. I have a strong belief that making communities stronger would prevent civil wars and desolation as it promotes strength and unity, and architecture plays a very big role in providing the means for that to happen. I want to focus on helping communities and the change of the “box idea. In a world where commercial architecture has taken over it is really amazing to find that inspiration in creating architecture for the people around us and integrating those differences that those people have into one to create one big ideal.

PROTOTYPICAL STRUCTURES The project is an exploration of from using a typical structural type, in this case the folded plate structure. I used folded units to create a conical dome that can alternate variables The pavilion is derived from the exploration of structures. The conical dome is created out of strips that fold inward to create openings. The structure relays on itself to hold

ARTHROPOD GALLERY + STUDIO Using barnacles as an inspiration from nature and the structure from the pavilion project the from starts to grow to house the gallery function. Organic form provides natural light during the day and becomes a lantern on Serkal Ave. During the festive nights. The fabric material for the panels relates back to the region’s traditions of the Bedouin tent. This project was shortlisted for the young artist award.

IMPROVISED LANDSCAPES The project discusses the possibility of architects designing the world instead of S provided with a site for their projects. The process started with a collage from which a “world map” was developed. Then it transitioned into spacial studied through a physical model. This world discusses a possibility of having multiple livable layers of varying transparency.

FLOW: THE GREENWICH NURSERY The project was part of a competition for the AWR London nursery Competition. Derived from the form of a children’s slide the roof starts to provide an extravagant play of light on the interior. Each stripe in its form and directionality mimics the flow of River Thames. The landscape resembles the idea of paint puddle, where the paint flows outwards towards the edges of the site leaving the building pure of color

THICK SKINS- OUTSIDE IN The project was a proposal for a mixed use building somewhere in the UAE,it is a program of residental, reatil lesuire and offices to create a minature city in one location. The design of the tower is from the facade in, the building is basically a facade with a core. The facade transforms from regular quadrelaterals to hexagons and each push and pull diffrently to create a dynamic building and outdoor spaces.

ARTIST HOUSE BASTAKIA Located in the old Neighborhood of Bastakia. The project mimics the traditional Arabic courtyard house with a modern twist of materials and program. There is a concrete service core that mimics the surrounding sikkas and the program revolves around it in linear manner

NEW ARTS +DESIGN COLLEGE The project is a conceptual proposal for a new college of arts and design at AUS. The campus is fairly opaque so this project becomes more of a reflection of the work that goes on inside its walls. Its structured in a way that created versatility within its rooms and creates various gathering spaces for the students on campus. Its exterior form starts on emphasize the exhibition spaces to invite spectators in.

PARAMETRIC WALL The wall’s purpose was to explore pushing a traditional building material beyond its usual limits. The design of the wall is based on a sin and cosine curves of equal equations and it was digitally constructed using grasshopper. This design helps the wall shade its front the entire day

TANOURA A whirling performance dance developed in the origins of the Islamic world, TANOURA (A multicolored skirt), creates a centrifugal movement, composing different patterns and colors together. The vision for this concept, was to unite different cultures of the Arab world and create a vigorous and colorful environment, highlighting the promise of future . One of the defining features of TANOURA, is the continuous rotation around a central radial axis. This specific movement for noise bulb a strategic color which is highlighted in the design proposed. The pavilion is designed to create the interpretation of a TANOURA frozen midair.

INVASION: POST APOCALYPTIC CITY

The course explored the effects of digital modeling and collaging on the real world. The idea was to create stills for a “movie” that does not exist. The stills discuss a scenario in which more intelligent creatures invade earth and the consequence of that invasion. The last two stills show that those creatures started to rebuild earth in a manner that does not harm our planet.

ROPE CHAIR

The chair is constructed by combing the methods of old traditions with a modern design. It also explores how far can solidified rope can stand structurally. The design explores two main loops with several ropes offset to create structural thickness and a seat that is also made of the same material.

HEXA- MORPHOUS TILES The tile incooperates a process of postive and negative molds in order to reach the final product. First a CNC positive out of wood is created then a plastic sheet is heated and vacuumed to create a negative mold that can be used to create multiple tiles. The design challenged orientation to created difftent patterns everytime a tile is rotated.
