Welcome back to SIFF! It's great to see you guys again. Shin: It’s good to be back. Minhyun: Someone should probably wake Shikamaru.
For everyone who missed you last spring, tell everyone a bit about yourselves and how you got your start. Who are your influences? Shin: I was the first for the group starting my training when I was 18. Later Shikamaru joined me and we formed a three man group with an old friend of ours Ji Hoo who decided to go solo. At that time I guess my influence were my parents and the support they had for me to go into this career. Minhyun: I grew up watching all the idols on t.v and knew I wanted to give it a chance. When I auditioned to be part of the studio I never dreamed I’d be part of Eternity. It was a dream come true really. I’d have to say Shin is a great influence. Ren: I started out with commercials as a young child. I was being told all the time to audition and be part of a group and so I gave it a shot and was put together with them. My parents of course are my greatest influence. Aron: I grew up in the US so I never had considered doing something like this. After Eternity came out the last time I saw one of their concerts on the television and wanted to give it a shot so I auditioned. Eternity was my biggest influence and probably still is.
So, have any of you had any music lessons? Do any of you actually know how to play any instruments? Shikamaru: Shin can play both the piano and guitar. He came from a very musical family. *yawns* Shin: ^^ Ren: I know Minhyun plays the violin. Minhyun: I wouldn’t consider myself good. Aron: I’ve dabbled with the drums a bit.
What brings you back to SIFF? Ren and Minhyun: A new experience. Shin: We wanted to give it another run. Pull out all the stops this time around.
A little birdie told me that there were some infighting in the band hat caused a brief disbanding. So, what happened there? What got you back together? Shikamaru: That was a tiresome thing. Minhyun: We weren’t around for this. Ren: It was a sad thing when they disbanded. Shin: We had some.. creative differences. After lots of discussions we decided it was best to part our ways and reform the group. We’re still friends with the old members Even have planned gigs with a couple of them.
How has the band and your sound changed with the addition of Aron? Aron: Has the sound changed? Minhyun: Your Korean is a little rough. Shin: Our sound is a lot fuller than it was before. We had a great group before, but now I think the sound is just where it’s needed to be.
Tell us about your creative process. Does anyone do most of the writing or is it a group effort? What about choreography? Ren: Shin does all the writing and honestly it’s for the best. Shin: Stop. ^^ Minhyun: We have a choreographer who comes up with all the dances, but Aron and I are usually always the leads when it comes to practices. Aron: Some of those practices were hard. Tell us about your new album, Sherlock. We really want to know about the collaboration between you and B.A.D.A. Bing. What is your relationship with them? Shikamaru: Sherlock is going to be great. We have a lot of good songs c oming out on it. Aron: The collaboration with BADA Bing was great. Minhyun: We were on a very tight schedule though and many times we had kids running around on set with us. Ren: They were so cute and playful. Shin: Our manager of course is a part of BADA Bing, but I had met them once when they were in Korea before they had even formed a group. Shikamaru: *cough* Love affair. *cough* Shin: That didn’t happen. ^^
Is there anywhere you want to perform that you haven't? Ren: Europe! Aron: We have some shows lined up for that though I’m hearing. Are we going to see a video from you this year? If so, can you tell us anything about it? Minhyun: Yes we’ll have a video coming out. Aron: It was a lot of fun to shoot. Shin: We can’t say much more about it since that will give information away. What are your plans after SIFF? Shin: We’ll do some tours and possibly have a collaboration with 4 Leaf Clover. Ren: Really? That will be fun! Minhyun: Calm down. I have some random quick questions here from our fans. Favorite children's breakfast cereal? Minhyun and Ren: Fruit Loops Aron: Frosted Flakes Shin: I didn’t really eat these cereals. ^^ Shikamaru: Honey Comb Favorite Power Ranger? How would you react if you found fan fiction about Eternity on the Internet? Minhyun: We found a really good one about Shin and Shikamaru on the nternet the other day. Ren and Aron: *laugh* Shin: Oh‌ um‌ ^^ Shikamaru: *runs hand through hair* One last question. Can you guys tell me three differences between N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys? Aron: Are they bands? Minhyun: They sound like something broken.
