This is currently the bulk of my private practice. I regularly provide services for several national law firms. These include clinical negligence and personal injury / criminal injury reports. I can provide authoritative, unbiased and comprehensive reports, based on over 20 years experience as a consultant.

Available for medicolegal and clinical work, I have considerable experience in facial injuries, facial deformity, skin cancer and oral surgery.

FACIAL TRAUMA

Facial trauma (maxillofacial trauma) can have a huge impact on a patient's self esteem and confidence. If poorly treated, the resulting disfigurement can be extremely difficult to correct. As clinical lead I specialise in the repair of complex trauma.

FACIAL DEFORMITY

Facial deformity has many causes. My interests and experience focus on post traumatic (such as crooked / bent noses, sunken eye sockets, flat cheeks and scars) as well as other causes of facial disproportion (orthognathic surgery)

SKIN CANCER

Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer. Facial skin cancer should be treated immediately to minimise spread and disfigurement. Surgery remains the most effective treatment for most kinds of skin cancer. Screening and treatment available

ORAL SURGERY

Oral surgery covers all aspects of specialist surgery to the mouth. It includes wisdom teeth removal / dental extractions and the diagnosis and treatment of patches, rashes and ulcers within the mouth

COSMETIC SURGERY

I also provide facial cosmetic surgery for the more common conditions (such as moles, acne scarring, twisted noses, scar revision, lumps and bumps etc). I do not undertake injectable fillers, botox, facelifts, bat ears or eyelid procedures

Mr Ross was appointed as a General Orthopaedic Consultant in 1984 at Wythenshawe Hospital in South Manchester with an interest in paediatrics. In 1989 he was invited to apply for a post at Hope Hospital to join the Orthopaedic Academic Department, reducing his interests to paediatrics, trauma and adult spinal problems In 1992 he reduced his commitment further by concentrating his work at Hope. A further reduction in the scope of his work occurred in 1995 when he elected to become a full time spinal surgeon.

Mr Ross has an excellent knowledge of traumatology, paediatrics and the spine His specialist interest in the spine is in degenerative disorders. He has written extensively on disc replacement surgery and has participated on disc design teams His writing and teaching keeps him at the forefront of developments in his clinical arena. He is an orthopaedically trained spinal surgeon he now works exclusively in the medico legal field and exclusively in spine He reports and advises on a spectrum of spinal conditions Mr Ross has a medico legal practice at Suite 3, Marsland House, Marsland Road, Sale M33 3AQ. The practice is fully adapted for disabled access which is paramount for a practice where significant numbers of claimants are disabled His medico legal practice is centred on the spine alone. He has a significant claimants' practice of between 150 and 200 cases per annum, with fewer defendant's caseshowever he would like to expand in that area. He also undertakes medical negligence cases, seeing approximately one case a month, and has acted for both claimants and defendants.

Agency work is also undertaken as well as some selective law practices with whom Mr Ross has built up good relationships over the years. His practice is exclusively in the Manchester/Liverpool area at present, although he would consider a London based venue if appropriate. Domiciliary visits can be arranged in exceptional circumstances.

DR HARRISS, FRCPS(CAN), FRCP(LONDON)

MEDICO LEGAL /PERSONAL INJURY YEARBOOK

DrHarriss,FRCPS(Can), FRCP(London)isaPhysical MedicineandRehabilitation doctor,whohasworkedinthe UKandinCanadaduringhis career.

A Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine in private practice and Managing Director of the Independent Rehabilitation Medicine Assessments (IRMA), Dr Harriss is a leading medical expert with over twenty years’ experience. He has been a much-valued member of the NRC team for over four years.

Dr Harriss’s clinical interests were developed over two decades of international experience of adult and paediatric rehabilitation. Committed to ensuring that each patient is considered from all medical, surgical and specialist rehabilitation perspectives, he tells us,

“While recognising that most of my patients present with neurological diagnoses, I am most interested in considering every other aspect of their condition and potential recovery. It is often challenging to take a broad and multidisciplinary perspective, but people are complex, and they deserve nothing less.”

Dr Harriss feels that the UK is ‘well-served’ by internationally respected NHS neurologists and neurosurgeons, whose diagnostic and technical skills have saved countless lives He goes on, “It is regrettable to see that longer-term rehabilitation, both in hospital and the community, is under-resourced. There is a growing and robust body of evidence that outcomes greatly benefit from comprehensive, goal-directed neurorehabilitation It is often only following introduction of a multi-disciplinary specialist-led rehab program that patients can make the most of their recovery following lifesaving early interventions.”

When it comes to sharing his expertise with the courts, Julian is motivated by providing full and accurate reports and expert witness testimony, which can help resolve difficult legal decisions. NRC Medical Expert reports begin with a review of a patient’s medical and surgical history and condition, before concentrating on how they can best be supported in every aspect of their recovery. Dr Harriss explains: “I take the long view, placing emphasis on the functional realworld implications of someone’s condition and prognosis While a neurologist’s diagnosis is often helpful, often of greater relevance is someone’s ability to live in the community, to work, and manage his or her own life. Patients want simply to get on with living life to the full, and that is where good neurological rehabilitation can make all the difference ” Recovery following a brain or spinal injury, or other neurological disability or condition, can be long, slow and hard-won. It takes the commitment and dedication of a range of professionals, individuals and their families Dr Harriss concludes, “As a medical expert, I become a key player in a person’s journey towards independence and I’m incredibly proud of being part of some inspirational transformations My greatest satisfaction has come from enabling severely injured people to return to their community to live with dignity and some independence with their family. Several clients are now enjoy fulfilling lives –supported by carers and therapists – with family in their own home, having only a couple of years before been found bed-bound and helpless in a care-home.”

WhatevidencedoIneed ifsomeoneowesme money?

Recovering money that is rightfully yours can often feel like a daunting task. It's a scenario no one wants to find themselves in, but if you do, it’s essential to be equipped with the right information and support

Whether it’s a company or an individual that owes you money, knowing what evidence you need is the first step towards a resolution

If your debtor is an individual First and foremost, you’ll need proof of the debt This could be in the form of an overdue invoice or a contract outlining the payment terms

If your agreement was made verbally, don’t lose hope A written confirmation, such as a text message or an email simply expressing gratitude for the loan, can serve as powerful evidence These communications are key, capturing the intent behind the transaction and proving that it was indeed a loan, and not a gift

You’ll also need the debtor’s full name and address If you don’t know your debtor's address, agencies like Redwood Collections can trace your debtor using state-of-the-art software to scan various databases

If your debtor is a company

If you’re owed money by a company, the requirements simplify somewhat – you need only the company’s name alongside proof of the debt

What if I don't have hard-proof of the debt?

It’s not uncommon, and while it may seem like a lost cause, it’s far from being a dead end Look for any correspondence that hints at the agreement or the intention behind the transaction

Perhaps, at the time of the loan, there were emails or texts exchanged that shed light on what was agreed Or maybe a mutual friend or acquaintance who was aware of your discussions can provide a statement confirming the details of the loan

The absence of evidence won't necessarily dismiss your case The small claims court exists for these types of disputes, where the focus is on persuading a judge about the nature of the transaction It’s about painting a picture that shows “on the balance of probability” an agreement for this transaction was made

This is where your narrative supported by any form of written correspondence, emails, texts, or witness statements, becomes key

We know that outstanding invoices can be a real hassle and the strain on your business may be detrimental Just remember, every piece of evidence counts, and with the right support, reclaiming what is yours is more achievable than you might think Contact Redwood Collections today to see how we can help streamline this process for you and help your business Grow Stronger
